Its a beautiful place we look forward to it every year. Last year we for the first time we talked about not going back as the service has gone downhill, progressively but a lot. From the experience booking the room, to the front desk staff to the less than professional staff in the restaurant it seems real hospitality is going away. This is a "5 star" hotel and above and beyond service should be expected. We're both long time chefs/service professionals who know how to have grace as we have been in many of these roles. We also know hospitality and what guests should expect and receive. A friendly and helpful booking agent, an upbeat and at least pleasant front desk welcome, a professional restaurant manager and a server who we don't have push to get his name even. Classic French training and professionalism may be gone but we shouldn't be treated as though we're being done a favor when we've paid for a very nice hotel and been very kind to those whose job it is to provide us with hospitality... a word that we feel staff should be retrained to understand. We would like to continue our tradition of visiting the st. Paul hotel and be able to recommend it others even.

Every aspect of the stay was exceptional. The St. Paul Grill was another highlight, offering friendly, attentive service along with fabulous cocktails and delicious food. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting St. Paul.
