- JKJohn KahrsMay 2, 20265.0Hotel Indigo in Rochester, MN. is a beautiful hotel. The room was very nice and inviting. Everything in the room was extremely clean and functional. The location is amazing to access everything downtown Rochester has to offer. The skywalk from the hotel 2nd floor lobby takes you everywhere! Mayo Clinic Gonda building, (five minute walk), Mayo Event Center (five minute walk) mall (five minute walk) all the fine food and shops are minutes away. The 2-Stars is for the front desk experience. From making our reservations to checkout, not up to IHG standards at all. When we called to make reservations the guy told my spouse he make our reservation and all he needed was her phone number to hold the room for a buy booked out weekend in Rochester. He would not take a credit card. The next morning my spouse back and spoke to someone else. They confirmed that a room was shown under her phone number but had no other information or credit card holding it and it would be released. She locked it in with a credit card and all her personal information that is typical for a reservation. Then at check out, sorry we inconvenienced the checkout person. She had to put her cellphone down and wait on us. She was not a pleasant person, and made us feel we inconvenienced her. I recommend the management retrain their front desk staff so they get 5-Stars. We will be back as we loved the facility and location. Next time hopefully we will have 5-star service at the desk.
- KWKimberly W.Apr 23, 20265.0I’ve stayed at several hotels within walking distance to Mayo and this one is my favorite, especially if you can get the Hotwire rate. The rooms are clean and comfy, no wall to wall carpeting which I think is more hygienic. Housekeeping is available if you let them know the night before. No breakfast is included, but the hotel restaurant, Crave, is delicious, especially for the Wednesday night steak night deal. Water pressure in shower is okay- you have to press a button in the shower for it, but even with that it’s not the best but it’s no a deal breaker. Furthermore it’s connected to Mayo via skywalk so you never have to go outside if the weather is bad ( takes about 12 minutes to get to lobby of Mayo from rooms), or you can also take the shuttle with the friendly driver.
