I stayed here for training at the Mayo Clinic. Since cleanliness is my top priority, I was happy to find the hotel very clean and in a great location—just a 15-minute walk to the Gonda Building.
However, the soundproofing is abysmal. I could hear the person in the next room coughing and snoring, and every footstep from the floor above. I literally had to sleep with earplugs every night.
The biggest issue, however, was a specific new female employee at the front desk. From the start, she didn't even know my booking included breakfast. She acted like she was doing me a favor by "giving me a coupon" when it was already part of my reservation. On another day, when I asked for a breakfast voucher, she made me wait for a long time while she went somewhere, then just handed it to me without a single word of apology for the wait.
She also called my room about a bag that wasn't even mine. When I went down and pointed out the room number was wrong, she just said, "I thought it was your name," with no proper apology. She seemed completely lost and unhelpful throughout my stay. Honestly, whenever I saw her at the desk, I didn't even want to ask for anything because I knew it would be a hassle.
Also, I hung the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on my door, but the housekeeping staff completely ignored it. They took the sign away, entered my room, and cleaned it without my permission. The sign has now vanished completely. This was a serious breach of privacy, and I am very disappointed with the service.
To make matters worse, I was double-charged and overcharged at the bar on two separate occasions. It was pretty much a headache to get it resolved.
The hotel itself is nice and clean, but the management seriously needs to work on staff training and basic guest service.

**beware** - I found TWO charges after checking out. One for parking that I didn’t use and the other was the price for the room even though I had already paid. This was over a month ago so the charges were posted to my account. Luckily I caught it and they returned my money. But this is super sketchy. They must be hoping folks don’t check their accounts.
Also be aware they do NOT have parking. They have PAID parking and then you can park on the streets until 10am I believe.

We had a long stay of eight nights and liked the close walk to the hospital. The underground parking was nice too, especially as we were in a tornado warning. We were well taken care of and told where to go in an emergency.
Kim in the Kitchen was wonderful and I enjoyed seeing her daily.
The coffee was fresh ground everyday and delicious. We used the free washer and dryers and it was a good experience too.
We would definitely stay there again.

This is our third stay at the Even this year. Love the underground parking that gets us out of cold in the winter and out of the rain in the spring. Rooms are clean and comfortable and include exercise area and equipment in the room. Staff is friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed Kim, our server at breakfast. She greeted us every morning with a smile, good conversation and efficient service. The hotel also has a large, well-equipped community exercise room and pool. Location is great and convenient to many of Mayo's various locations. The St Mary's campus is across the street. There are a number of restaurant options within a couple of blocks.
