- EOElizabeth Orr5 days ago5.0Out of many hotels to choose from for a quick work trip, I am so glad I chose to stay at the Normandy Inn. I did so based on the history and charm conveyed in the online photos, and I must say that it’s even more charming in person. The room was clean, towels well-stocked, and bed incredibly comfortable. While I didn’t partake of the pool facilities, they looked fantastic. Should I ever find myself in Minneapolis again, I look forward to another stay.

However, 2 issues that hold a lot of weight... and 1 I'm not sure much can be done about 1) No internet. It worked in the lobby, but not in the room. Considering that the TV had Chromecast, and you needed the BW WiFi for it to work, seems like a big oversight. WiFi is almost essential in today's market. Staff was aware. They told me it did not work in the rooms when I was having trouble connecting. 2) Poor hot water and water pressure. At full hear, was tepid and took a long while to get the soap out of my hair. It was a mid afternoon shower, so not exactly what would be considered a 'high demand' time. 3) It was loud at night. Street noise and sirens all night Friday and Saturday night.

I had never even set foot in the place until I book it last week. The Normandy Inn has a stellar reputation. My mom used to come here for lunch. The staff is lovely. The rooms are immaculate. The location is great. It has parking available. The restaurant is the best "hotel" restaurant I've eaten at. It has a boutique, hipster vibe without being pretentious. The other patrons are interesting and friendly too. Highly recommended.

Only downside is how thin the walls are and I had no idea you had to pay for parking on the premises. All in all, we had a great time, and for the price, it was a great experience.
