  We had an excellent experience the first night overall, thanks in large part to Chris’ recommendation and the excellent check-in experience with Anne. Unfortunately, that completely changed upon checkout. A woman at the front desk, who frankly should not be working in hospitality, refused to sell us anything from the shop and told us that since we were no longer checked in, we needed to leave the premises because “this is not a public space.” It’s unfortunate that one person can completely ruin your experience, but I would not give them another dime after that rude disrespect and dismissal. Edit: You were perfectly willing to sell me another item until you found out we had already checked out, at which point your entire customer service attitude disappeared. Frankly, I’m glad your employee showed us the true level of hospitality your establishment offers, because we were more than happy to take our money next door to East Bay Suites, where the accommodations and hospitality were significantly better. They also had no issue honoring the late checkout your establishment promised us but ultimately failed to provide, despite what your complaint suggests. I was simply retrieving an item we had accidentally left behind in the room. If this is how you choose to respond to patrons, it only reinforces the awful experience we had while checking out of your establishment. Whatever may have been said upon leaving was absolutely warranted given the treatment your staff member provided. I would absolutely not recommend anyone stay here when they can walk a few hundred feet to East Bay Suites and avoid the unnecessarily hostile and inhospitable experience your establishment provided.

  Our stay was brief but fabulous! I wish I could give the service a million stars instead of just 5. Kris at the front desk went above and beyond getting us checked in and comfortable, her kindness was infectious and put a smile on my face after a long day of driving! She was also super knowledgeable about the surrounding area, even giving us great advice about skiing at Lutsen. The breakfast was awesome and the gentleman working there this morning was friendly and considerate enough to check to make sure we had gotten enough food before shutting it down, which never happens! What a gem! The rooms were beautiful and cozy, and I look forward to staying here again at a wonderful hotel staffed by wonderful people!

  The views are amazing. The attention to detail makes this place charming and cozy. Big beautiful clean rooms. Friendly staff from the top to bottom.
