- MPMaureen PetersAug 26, 20261.0Reserved handicap room with roll in shower room 13 days prior to stay for an injury that prevented standing on one leg. At check in given a different room on 4th floor that was not what was reserved and was inaccessible to shower in due to injury. When questioned told that was all that was available. No apologies/ refunds …nothing. It was after 7 pm and had already been charged the $310.02 for the room so no where else to go for the night. The room smelled and had a sticky residue on all surfaces…floor & furniture. Requested to discuss with manager next day but told to contact IHG corporate. Numerous calls and emails to manager and corporate went unanswered. Customer service from Avid Hotel Zeeland and IHG have been nonexistent and appalling. Overpriced and did not deliver what was advertised and reserved.

We always check the room first and talked to the front desk immediately. Chaz and Alex were so wonderful and had the blankets and pillows we needed right away. They are wonderful and deserve to be recognized.

The room was clean, everything worked, and the front desk was quick and easy to deal with. Coffee machine was ready when I came down in the morning. Nothing to complain about. I stayed at another Avid property later in the same trip and the difference was noticeable. This one is run well. If you're passing through Zeeland, it's an easy call

The front desk had three people waiting in line and there was no one there to check you in. All they did was just put a sign saying they would be back soon. The couple in front of us said they were waiting over 5 minutes before we got there The hotel's only 5 years old yet it is literally damaged all over and not being cleaned properly there is dust covering the air vent in the bathroom damage to walls all over the place The footrest in the shower was literally falling off the wall. There was no water pressure in the shower. I stayed at many ihg hotels and never experienced a hotel this bad either they are understaffed or poorly managed hotel and when I told the clerk at the front desk when checking out all she said was okay. Didn't even say that they were sorry. Nothing
