  Staybridge Suites Detroit–Utica — I Would NOT Recommend My two-night stay for my son’s birthday was, unfortunately, very disappointing. I tried to let several things slide and remain professional, but eventually there were too many issues to ignore. At check-in, our room was not cleaned well, the rooms are very outdated, and the A/C struggled the first night. Once it kicked in, it was loud you may need earplugs to sleep. During our entire two-night stay, housekeeping never cleaned our room. When I called to extend our stay one more night, I was told the hotel was sold out and our room was already booked. Which was weird because I work in hospitality and know that you can book the room until guests check out especially with it being an extended stay hotel. In addition, I later checked online and saw multiple rooms available. That was confusing and frustrating, especially since I work in hospitality. The hotel is pet-friendly, and we could hear dogs barking. I also saw dogs around the breakfast area. There was also an extremely strong smell of both weed and cigarette smoke inside the hotel. The smell was so strong that it significantly affected the environment. The situation that bothered me most was receiving noise complaints about my children while they were playing in the pool area. I understand hotel noise policies, but with dogs barking and other noise happening around the property, it felt like my family was being singled out. Due to factors I will not state. I wanted to respond but chose to remain professional because we were there to celebrate my son’s birthday. To be fair, my children loved the pool, and that was the best part of our stay. But overall, between the cleanliness, outdated rooms, loud A/C, lack of housekeeping, strong weed and cigarette odors, noise issues, and frustrating customer service, I would not stay here again. If you’re considering this hotel, I strongly recommend looking at other options before booking

  This is one of my favorite places. It has an outdoor pool in an outdoor Jacuzzi two grills to grill whatever you want. And the service is outstanding here I love all their employees.

  Room smelt like cat urine and cigarets. It was dirty, floors dirty, over all not clean. The food bar was also dirty, rotten fruit in dirty bowls. We left. Pool looked decent.
