Night Shift Travelers Beware: Broken Promises, Filthy Room, and Hostile Management I am disgusted by my recent stay at the Hotel Indigo in Traverse City. I paid a lot of money for a single night under false pretenses, had my sleep completely disrupted after working a grueling night shift, and was met with hostility and zero empathy from management. Because I am a night shift worker traveling across the state, I called the hotel prior to booking to explain my situation. I needed to arrive for check in at 3:00 AM, go to work, return at 7:00 AM, and sleep. The front desk agent explicitly assured me that because they had a no-show cancellation, they could completely accommodate a 6:00 PM checkout. Based solely on that verbal agreement, I turned down several other hotels and booked a room here. When we arrived at 3:00 AM, the room was visibly dirty and unkept. There was a used rag lying on the floor, leftover tissue in the bathroom, and three dirty air filters left sitting on top of the AC unit. I took a video of all of this as soon as I walked into the room. Despite the room being dirty, I went to work, returned at 7:00 AM, and went to sleep. At noon, room service knocked on my door and woke me up. Following that, the manager personally called my room phone and woke me up twice more, aggressively telling me I had to be out by 2:00 PM. When I went downstairs to discuss the broken promise and the constant disruptions with the manager, he was completely useless, incredibly rude, and showed zero sympathy. When I told him that a 6:00 PM checkout was the entire reason I opted to stay there, he flatly stated, “Unfortunately that’s not something we can accommodate at this time,” and told me they never do checkouts that late. This was a flat-out lie. I have personally stayed at this exact property before, and they accommodated me with a 3:00 PM checkout with absolutely no issues. When I pointed this out, he still refused to acknowledge it or do anything to fix the situation. They took my money under false pretenses, failed to provide a clean room, broke their explicit agreement, ruined my sleep, and lied to my face when confronted. I assure you I will not be staying here again, and they have lost me as a customer which is unfortunate because I travel to Traverse City quite frequently for work.

This review is more about the service we received: My husband and I are currently staying at the Hotel Indigo in Traverse City for the Cherry Festival’s 100th Anniversary. Yesterday, we went to grab lunch at H&L Social Rooftop Bar & Eatery in the hotel but it was very crowded. My husband and I walked around town and found everything to be extremely busy as well. We walked backed to the hotel and sat down in the Warehouse Kitchen & Cork and saw a waitress but nobody else. We asked if they were serving food. They were not, but she went out of her way to ask her manager if she could serve us food! She explained that she knew how busy the rooftop was, how busy everything is, how hot it is outside, and that management served lunch there Friday because it was just too hot. We were exhausted and hungry, but this kind young woman provided us with everything we needed and more. Please please please help us in thanking her, Sela G., for taking a little time to help 2 old, new to IHG, customers feel appreciated and grateful for staying at the Hotel Indigo.

Rooms are nice, location is great. Only option for parking is valet at $18/night. Don’t plan on getting any sleep. Pounding music that rattles the building until midnight from the rooftop bar. Music could be heard 3 blocks down the street when walking back. Not what I expected for $500/night.

Service is awful here. Ordered room service and it did not arrive. Called the front desk for a refund and he acted as if I was an inconvenience calling for a refund. Now I have to wait till a manager can refund. He could of apologized and looked into my order. Wouldn't want to inconvenience you!
