I’m staying here now and I’m not too impressed. The outside pool is great but the indoor pool and hot tub need some serious scrubbing. The door to the indoor pool was broke which was fine, things happen. So we had to go to the outside pool to get to the inside pool. However, the pool towels were on the other side of that broken door. I asked a blonde front seat worker if he could have towels brought to the pool area and he said I’d have to walk all the at around the hotel to get theme and all the way back. I said well that seems a little ridiculous, why can’t you have a pile brought for everyone to use and he tells me “that’s just how it’s going to be”. Not the kind of service you’d expect for the amount you pay here.

Hotel was listed as Muskegon and was a longer driving distance to anything recreational. All state parks and beaches were a 30+ minute drive. Most upscale restaurants were further north or south or closer to Grand Rapids. Our rate was very expensive a night for this to be the case. The room was average. The extra spent for a river view was not worth it, you see more of the tiki bar and the courtyard than anything and the balcony was tiny. Trying to sleep you can easily hear all the noise from the pool goers too. The bathroom was smaller and the sink and tub were slow to drain, and it was hard to get towels when requested. Noticeable mold in the shower. Wallpaper peeling and dirty carpet. It’s obvious there was a remodel but very little effort was put in. The pictures are well staged to appear new. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub for a bit, the tiki bar was on the expensive side. The air conditioning in the hall was not on, and it was so hot the ice from the machine was melting practically as it was dispensed into our cooler. Not worth it for the price for a short weekend trip.

My family arrived to the hotel after driving 6 hours. Walking into the room we were pretty disappointed. It was small, outdated and a bit run down. The floor was sticky and carpet was worn. We stayed in July so it was hot and the air conditioning to the room didn’t work, which was the biggest problem for me. I informed the front desk staff who were very nice. A maintenance man did come up to the room and agreed that the air was not working. We were given a small fan to use for the night. Needless to say, we checked out the next day. Eventually the general manager called me with the maintenance man sitting next to him. The GM didn’t understand why I wanted more money back. I explained that no one should pay over $300 a night for a room like this. He claimed that the maintenance man had fixed the problem, which was completely untrue. GM and maintenance guy were completely dishonest and rude. Restaurant was dirty as well, which was the theme here. My husband had a steak he said was awful. There are MUCH better options out there. Don’t waste your money.

I came here on vacation with my friends. The hotel itself is good and has a great view. But we went to get dinner at the restaurant there and it was very disappointing. We all got different things from the menu. The presentation was nice but the food was terrible. I got a fish sandwich and it was flavorless. My friends got the mushroom bowl and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was flavorless and tasted like cardboard. The mushroom bowl was salty. My friends parents got fish and chips and they were very small. The waitress didn't know anything on the menu. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The hotel is OK. The view is pretty nice but the problem that I’ve had is the restaurant inside the hotel. My family and I went here having pretty high expectations because the aesthetics are nice and it seems like it would have good food. We all ordered different things off the menu. I got the mushroom bowl. It was probably the most disgusting thing I’ve ever had in my life when I bit into the mushroom it was like biting into pure salt. Someone else ordered mac & cheese and I tried it. It was again the most disgusting mac & cheese. I’ve ever had a five-year-old could make it better. It was the most flavorless thing ever. And the other food was just as bad. When we first got it all looked really nice and good. Genuinely don’t even waste your time going there McDonald’s or Culver’s would be better. The service was OK, but the waitress didn’t know how to answer any of our questions like basic ones about items on the menu. She told us herself that it was better for “drinking and hanging out “which I’m not sure why she said that because really nobody was drinking. I don’t normally complain about food places, but this was the worst food I’ve ever had in my life.
