  Holiday Inn Express Munising was a GORGOUS hotel to stay at. We stayed here after our pictures rock cruise. The views were insane. The rooms were very clean. The service was great. Overall this hotel could not have been better. Thee was an awesome pool and they had a little gift shop with pictured rock merch! The breakfast was also super yummy - the oatmeal was super good!

  I had a great stay here. The pool was very well kept along with the gym and ice makers. The workers were very nice when I was checking in and very helpful. I loved the view we got looking out the back of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good place to stay!!

  Our first trip to the UP and I managed to book this outstanding hotel. I assumed it was an entirely new property and was informed it was actually a 27 year old property that had been recently refreshed. Talk about refreshed!! Great views, friendly and attentive staff of course the always consistent breakfast and coffee (those damn cinnamon rolls!!) Our view for sunrise could not have been better and relaxing on the balcony in the evening was incredibly refreshing. We're back in South Florida now in the "wall of tropics" and but can hold on to those memories of comfortable mornings and evenings we had there at the hotel. An outstanding basecamp for the seemingly limitless things to do within 40 miles of Musining.

  We stayed in a two-queen room on the first floor with a lake view. Our initial reaction was great, the room was very clean, organized, and everything was laid out in a way that made sense, unlike a lot of hotels. It also looked like it may have been recently remodeled. The continental breakfast was good, and everything appeared clean. However, I was a bit surprised that instead of having stir sticks for coffee, they used plastic spoons, and the breakfast area also used styrofoam plates and bowls. That doesn’t seem very environmentally friendly, especially for a place in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, an area that prides itself on preserving its natural beauty. We also couldn’t bring ourselves to use the serving trays provided in the breakfast area, they had a musty smell that put us off. There also weren’t enough towel or clothing hooks in the room. It would be nice if they added some hooks on the bathroom door. Wifi worked fine, and parking had plenty of space. The beds were super firm, and noise levels were loud until about 10pm, which seemed to be quiet hours after that. The pool area was nice for the kids. The location was good too, just a five minute drive from downtown Munising.

  We were told the wrong price and then charged 100 more. The price for the place is clearly put into the structure of the building itself and less into anything else. The breakfast was horrible, had bad options, and nothing was stocked. We just expected a lot more for what this price is worth. We stayed at a better hotel the night prior that was 150 with much better breakfast, convenience, and an overall better stay. Save your money and book ahead of time for one of the cheaper, but much nicer Inns.
