Positives: Safe area for a solo traveler. Great bed and shower. Clean room. Plenty of parking and easy walk to shopping and food. Downside: carpet needs replacing; the kitchenette lacked power to the microwave, coffee maker, and lights. Smoking area is right outside the entrance. Room was on the second floor and there's no elevator.

This place is awful. I am not sure how it has such good reviews. It looks like it hasn't been updated in about 50 years. The paint was peeling off the walls in the main area and the stairwell. There is no elevator and there are 17 stairs to the 2nd floor and they are steep. Good luck getting your suitcases up there. The hot tub was out of order (comments from the past few months also indicate out of order). The bathroom was not clean and had some kind of grease on the floor. The bathroom sink stopper was missing and the sink drained water very slowly. The beds were so stiff and there was only a thin sheet on the top. No blanket or comforter. The ice machine on the 2nd floor was out of order, so go up and down 17 stairs to get ice and back. Went down for breakfast more than 30 minutes before it was over and there was no coffee and 2 bagels left. Nothing else. Such an awful stay that we didn't even stay the additional night and left early. Hotel options are limited in this area, but I advise making reservations in Oxford or Lake Orion. The drive is worth it.

I was really disappointed with my stay. For nearly $200 per night, I expected a much better experience. The hotel is very outdated and had a strange, unpleasant smell throughout the property. It definitely doesn't match the quality or value you would expect at this price point. One of the biggest inconveniences was that there is no elevator. If you're assigned a room on the second floor, you're expected to carry your luggage up two flights of stairs. This wasn't mentioned ahead of time and would be especially difficult for anyone traveling with heavy bags, children, or mobility limitations. To make matters worse, amenities that are still advertised are no longer available. The hot tub has reportedly been out of service for months, yet it's still promoted as an amenity. The restaurant advertised by the hotel is also no longer open, which was another disappointment since it factored into our decision to book here. Overall, this hotel simply isn't worth the cost. Between the outdated condition, unpleasant odor, lack of an elevator, and unavailable amenities that are still being advertised, I left feeling like I paid far more than the experience was worth. I would not stay here again unless significant improvements are made and the advertised amenities accurately reflect what's actually available.
