  My daughter did some of the packing on this one night weekend trip to Detroit and we stayed at this hotel. I am a member and usually stay at the holiday inn express for their convenient location and good breakfast and pool. However, the rooms quality vary at different locations. Our room does not even have a USBC port, just the regular USB port. Being a 9 year old my daughter forgot to take the adapter so we can’t charge my phone. The hotel was not helpful also with no other options other than suggesting I buy one from a store. It’s disappointing how old the technology is t this location.

  For the price, this hotel was a good value. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of options to choose from. The only issue I noticed was the pool. It didn’t seem very clean, and I think it could have been better maintained.

  BEWARE of the chairs in the common area. The metal bar across the front bottom has an extremely sharp edge that sliced open the back of my ankle. When I reported the issue to the front desk associate, she acknowledged that it had happened to another guest, but stated there was nothing she could do about it. I suggested putting tape across the sharp edge. However, I was told that the manager had already told her furniture modifications weren't allowed as they would void the warranty (i.e. protecting the furniture is considered more important than protecting guests from a known hazard). To add insult to injury was her suggestion that most people don't put their ankle under the bar. My ankle simply came into contact with the chair during normal use, and implying that the injury was somehow my fault was both unhelpful and inappropriate. Guest safety should be a top priority, and modifying the furniture to eliminate these hazards seems obvious. The hotel itself it was fine. The room was clean, the water pressure in the shower was outstanding and the housekeeping staff was great. There was a variety of breakfast options, and it was kept filled, but the taste was mediocre. The location was great for easily getting to Greenfield Village. Next time we'll stay at a Hilton.

  I stayed here for 7 nights, and it’s a mixed review. On the positive side, the room was clean and relatively comfortable. The major issue was WiFi reliability. The hotel advertises free WiFi, but for roughly half of my stay, it was completely down. I work remotely, so this wasn’t a minor inconvenience - I had to leave the hotel at 4:30am several mornings and work from a nearby Starbucks just to meet my job obligations on time. A 4:30am solo trip to find working internet isn’t just an inconvenience, it’s a real safety concern, especially for a female traveling alone for work. I spoke with the general manager about the issue, and to their credit, they took it seriously and offered a discounted rate on a future stay. I appreciated that response and think it was a fair resolution, which is why I’m not rating this lower. But I’d still want future guests - especially anyone traveling for work - to know that “free WiFi” wasn’t reliable during my stay, so plan a backup option just in case.

  When our plane was canceled due to bad weather ,we needed a place to stay...not knowing the Detroit area we picked this hotel to stay 2 nights. We arrived at 3 am weary and slightly irritable at having been traveling for many hours. We were greeted by Dana C. She immediately made us feel welcome and made our check in a breeze....she had probably the best customer service skills we have ever encountered. She made us feel like we were at home. Friendly (at 3am) safe and reassuring us were in good hands. I can't thank her enough for her hospitality when we were in a bad situation. The rooms are so clean and the bed was comfy . I noticed that they are constantly cleaning. If you should be stranded or looking for a pit stop this is your place. Ps. If Dana isn't a manager she should be considered ,with her customer service skills and knowledge Holiday express would be at a loss without her . Also, the breakfast was wonderful. Thank you Dana again
