  Perfect hotels for little families. Clean, convenient, and GREAT LOCATION. The staff was also incredibly nice and informative. Nothing fancy but it was exactly what you want from a New England beach hotel. The beach is crazy crowded before noon which is why the hotel pool was crucial for our toddlers. Can’t wait to book again.

  In need of major upgrade and attention to maintenance. Each year, my immediate and extended family and I rent between 6-10 rooms on the same weekend for the past 15 plus years. We don't choose Sands for the rooms themselves - they've always been in need of an upgrade. We stay for the centralized meeting place at the pool and the short walk to everything Short Sands has to offer. Unfortunately, we're at a point, where we can't stomach it anymore. Around 3 years ago, they changed the requirement from a 2 night minimum to a 3 night minimum. YET, there has been no effort on their part to even keep up with the place. -The carpet needs to be removed from the rooms as they are DISGUSTING and no one should walk barefoot on them. -The bathrooms are in serious need of an upgrade including the sink's water pressure and proper height. -The furniture and appliances are WAY overdue for replacements. -The beds are ok but not great by any means. The thing that pained me the most however, is the pool because that is where we spent a good amount of time together as a family. The bottom of the pool needs repair as the cement is peeling and scrapes the heck out of your feet. And sitting at a table or on a lounge chair looking at the PVC pipe that they use for a waterfall instead of actually repairing the one nice feature that used to put a smile on my face. I mean really??? My family and I have decided it's time to move on and find a new favorite spot. Hopefully, we hear in the future that they've invested in it and maybe I'd consider going back. The staff is very nice but it's a slap in the face to pay so much money to a place that isn't willing to maintain it properly.

  Such an amazing stay! York is a great place for a quick getaway and Sands By The Sea did a great job with helping us relax and settling in for the weekend! Great job!
