Nice overall stay but they should have coffee available 24 hours. Especially since they have 2 automatic machines.

In February we decided to book a room in order to help my autistic grandson learn to travel. We wanted to be close to home so that if the trip was too much we could easily go home to where hes comfortable.
My daughter thought it was a great idea and decided to join us with her two girls for the weekend. Waterville offered several things we could take the kids to do for activities.
While booking, all these offers came up. I finally settled on an Expedia offer and booked a room for 6 for two days. 3 adults and 3 kids. We were going to have a great time.
March 20, 2026 we go to the hotel. Im at the desk and hand my ID to the person behind the desk. I ask if I can get a room on the main floor as my grandson like to run back and forth and I dont want to disturb anyone. I need my license plate number. I tell him I'll be right backjust as he answers the phone. I go out to the car where my partner and grandson wait in the car. I grab the plate number and go back in.
The person is still on the phone and their is another gentleman in line in front of me.
After a couple minutes, I slide my plate number and credit card to him on the counter and mouth "I'll be right back"
He nods in agreement and I take a cart out to the car and pull our luggage and load the cart. I also pull tanks of oxygen and load them for my partner.
I take my grandson (just turned 8) , the cart and head back in while my partner goes to park the car.
The desk area is clear now. The man behind the desk is looking at his screen with concern.
Im trying to keep my grandson close as he wants to explore. Im asking, half way across the lobby, if there is a problem. Thinking my credit card isn't going through. He has now talked with the woman behind the counter.
She looks up and says they dont rent to people who live within 30 miles. I live 27 miles away. She says I'll ask the manager but id ont know. She then looks at me and with a sternness, as if I've done something terrible says " you'll need at least $350 deposit if he agrees to rent to you.
Im stunned.
A minute later another man is behind the counter as they fill him in as to what I've done wrong. He tells me he cant rent to me because I live too close. I am asking what do I do now. My daughter is on her way with my grandkids. Im quickly explaining my grandson is autistic and we wanted to be close just incase we needed to go home.
Im still looking back and forth because my grandson has now entered their dinning area. My body heads that way while the woman behind the counter tells me, again with a condemnation "there is a sign right on the counter!"
I am grabbing my grandsons arm and saying "But I've had this reservation for a month!"
The manager quickly checks my details on the screen. " you used a third party. We cant help you"
My partner walks through the door very winded from the walk from the car. What's wrong She asks. I am now trying to remove my crying grandson when I tell him we need to leave, I am pushing our cart full of stuff out the door with my partner trying to figure out what just happened. Im crying and we all sit on the bench outside the hotel lobby.
I did manage to find another local hotel to put us up. But this was our experience in Waterville.

I BOOKED, AND PREPAID FOR MY RESERVATION AND ONCE YOU ARRIVE THEY HAVE A SIGN ADVISING IF YOU LIVE WITHIN 30 MILES YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO RENT!
my home is being painted, and I thought id get a little relax time and stay for a few days to avoid the paint smell..... NOPE!
they treat you like youre a holigan, and are going to be "trashing the room, and partying"
Im 41 yrs old, I am a professional and have an 830pm bed time. Oh and FORGET ABOUT A REFUND! ITS BEEN 3 DAYS NOT REFUNDED

Were Marriott people.
Haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn since the 1970s. The rooms were clean and mattress and linen perfect and comfortable.
Compliment Breakfast better then what we would've paid for at A Marriott or Sheraton.
The staff friendly. Next show at the Waterville Opera House we will stay again.
Hallway rugs and wallpaper need updating.
If the Pool is clean? Didnt have an opportunity to see.
This would be a 4 star Hotel.
