  I thought it was a good hotel even though a little old. Upon check in I was given a list of restaurants to go to. Comfortable beds in the room with a massage chair. Free breakfast was busy at times. Friendly Staff. One of the few hotels that have a working AC in the fitness room that I've been to. Only thing I didn't like was the bathroom. I didn't like having to hold down the flusher for the water to train.

  Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. The Best Western Merry Manor Inn provides incredible value for money given its proximity to major highways and downtown Portland. The front desk and service staff are remarkably warm, helpful, and attentive. The room amenities like the in room fridge, microwave, and two bathroom sinks were super convenient. The highlight was definitely the breakfast buffet and the year round heated pool area. My only minor critique is that the property and hallways do feel a little dated in certain spots, and the breakfast area can get a bit cramped during peak morning rushes. However, the cleanliness, stellar customer service, and great perks more than make up for it. A solid, cozy choice for a coastal trip!

  This was the best hotel. Everything was clean. Beds were comfortable. Pool and patio area were so fun! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful! Coffee was just right. Perfect stay for a morning flight home. 12 minutes from airport.

  We stayed here because we were in the area for only one night and it was a reasonably priced, well reviewed hotel kind of midway between Portland and Freeport (so we could make quick trips to both). Location-wise, it was directly off the highway and delivered on being a good mid-point for our short visit, but if you're hoping for anything sightseeing-wise within walking distance, this wouldn't be the place to go (as you can probably easily tell on the map view). I'm not sure it was in the greatest part of town, but also not the worst or unsafe. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was pretty good - slightly better than average continental breakfast - and the room was clean. The decor needed a lot of help, the room was so unattractively decorated that it made it *feel* unclean even though it absolutely was very clean. Our room was near the lobby and we definitely got noise to go with that, but that's just poor location luck and a matter of the other types of guests that were present when we came - others may not have that same experience. The beds were relatively comfortable - not the best, not the worst (good pillows, lower end mattress with a pad, no waterproof/protective wrap around the mattress). I wouldn't necessarily recommend the hotel because it didn't stand out as special, but I wouldn't tell someone not to go here either - it met the basic expectations you have of a hotel as somewhere safe and clean to sleep for the night. It's listed as a three star hotel and I agree with that rating.

  From checking in to checking out was uncomfortable. I came late and was happy they could accommodate me but the attitude was not needed. The breakfast lacked. Not very much options (for me). I gave it a two star because even though the room was a nice size, the place wasn’t clean, mainly the bathroom. Tub was dirty, toilet handle broken and the sink is dirty also. I had to clean it before using it. There was hair in the bed and bathroom. Not very happy with that at all.
