I have stayed at this hotel for about 4 years now, and I can honestly say it has consistently been an amazing experience every single time. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel comfortable and at home. The staff here are incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to go above and beyond to help with anything you need, which truly makes a huge difference in the overall stay!
Close to the university, I highly recommend!

Picturesque is accurate but then you walk in to the overpowering odor of pinesol mixed with fabuloso! It’s everywhere and then you realize windows are open in the rooms. I have COPD and I couldn’t stay there they couldn’t air the place out enough and when I told them I was getting sick and had to leave they wouldn’t even offer a refund on the other nights. Stated it was against their policy.
Expedia could not resolve this issue with the manager so they said.
Would not recommend this property.

If you can’t take heavy perfume smell do not stay here. We booked thru Expedia and paid for a 4 night stay for a family funeral. The deodorant smell was so overpowering from the foyer thru the hallway and into the room.
It was so bad we had to leave. We explained to management we could not handle the heavy smell and she stated the chemicals were approved by Best Western. She offered to move us to 2nd floor but she didn’t understand the smell was overpowering and overwhelming thru out the property. In fact most of the windows were opened.
Management refused to refund any portion of the stay. We were there a total of 45 minutes…
We left and went to another location

Think twice!!! The hotel’s appearance is less than desirable. There were 2 old rusty grills; one on the sidelines of the parking lot and the other leaning against a wall. There was little to no landscaping and potholes throughout the parking lot. Worn, dented window shakers were in every window and numerous windows were open and you could smell deodorizers in parking lot as you walked toward the entrance. The lobby felt dark and claustrophobic and wreaked of deodorizers (as if an attempt to hide the smell of a musty, moldy old building that’s been whitewashed.) This smell intensified as you walked down the cramped hallway to the room. Once in the room the smell made my eyes water, throat closed and nasal cavities assaulted. After 25 minutes of trying to air out the room to no avail my family and I had to leave the building. The front desk clerk agreed that the smell in the room was powerful and stated the management would allow us to try a room on the 2nd floor, but failed to understand that the smell permeates the building. The manager insisted that all cleaning products are approved by the chain and refused to refund any portion of the 4 night stay. I have allergies and was told I should have informed them when the reservation was made. Expedia has tried to resolve the issue but the management refuses to do the right thing and refund any portion of our stay. We were there 35 minutes.
Stayed one night at the SureStay in Presque Isle. The room itself was fine for the price, but the walls are paper-thin — you can clearly hear everything from the next room over. The hallways are noticeably worn and uneven, and I couldn’t find any elevator access to the second floor, which could be a real issue if you have luggage or mobility concerns.
But the real problem was the service. At check-in, the front desk attendant tossed my room keys across the counter — not a great first impression. It went downhill from there: I received two mysterious calls on the room phone where no one spoke, followed by a call from the front desk informing me I’d been checked into the wrong room. Shortly after, there was loud, aggressive knocking at my door — two individuals who claimed to be checking on me but were clearly trying to peer into the room and seemed deliberately intimidating. The whole situation felt unsettling and unprofessional.
For the price point, the physical hotel is acceptable — but the service experience was genuinely poor and left me uncomfortable. If you’re visiting the area, I’d strongly recommend the Hampton Inn or the Northeastland Hotel instead.
