I don’t often write reviews, but Kristen at the Crowne Plaza in Greenbelt truly deserves to be recognized. She provided some of the best customer service I have experienced in all of my travels. From the moment I arrived, she was warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure my stay was enjoyable. She went above and beyond to answer my questions, accommodate my needs, my grandma needs, and made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another reservation.Exceptional customer service is hard to find these days, but Kristen reminded me what true hospitality looks like. She is an incredible asset to the team at Crowne Plaza College Park - Washington DC by IHG. If you’re staying here, I hope you have the pleasure of being helped by her you’ll be in great hands. Thank you, Kristen, for making my stay such a wonderful experience!

I had a wonderful experience at the breakfast buffet, and a big part of that was thanks to Mahlet. She was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive from the moment I arrived. Her kindness and genuine hospitality made the morning feel special, and she went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt comfortable and well taken care of. It’s rare to come across someone who brings such positive energy to their work. Mahlet is a true asset to the hotel, and I hope she receives the recognition she deserves. Thank you for making my stay even more enjoyable!

BE AWARE OF THIS HOTEL! If I could rate it a zero I would. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had, and after multiple events and stays at this Crowne Plaza, I've had enough. I will not be returning or recommending this hotel. The problems start with the management. The front desk manager, Kristen, was polite to my face, but after helping me, I overheard what I believed were comments about me to another employee. That left me feeling disrespected and gave me the impression that the friendliness was not genuine. The General Manager, Mike, also didn't inspire confidence. During my experiences at the hotel, he always seemed to be in meetings or walking around the property, but I never saw management effectively addressing guest concerns. When issues arose, I didn't feel that they were handled efficiently. The sales department has been equally frustrating. I've worked with Jamie for multiple events, and communication has been consistently poor. Phone calls and emails often went unanswered, and there were mistakes with our rooming list that created unnecessary stress. I also felt that conversations were often cut short before my questions or concerns were fully addressed. The staff overall appeared undertrained and unsure of basic procedures. Simple requests turned into unnecessary hassles because employees often didn't seem to know what they were doing.
The hotel's condition only made things worse. The elevators frequently broke down, the market was rarely stocked, and the rooms were uncomfortable because they were either too hot or too cold. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Charging $21 for food of that quality is outrageous. It was unappetizing and nowhere near worth the price. This hotel charges premium prices but delivers a below-average experience. Between poor communication, management issues, undertrained staff, maintenance problems, and an overpriced breakfast, my experiences have been consistently disappointing. There are far better hotels that value their guests and events, and unfortunately, this isn't one of them.

I have never experienced such terrible service. The room was freezing cold, and a family member caught a cold because of it. We requested an extra blanket for each room, but after waiting two and a half hours, no one had delivered them. When I called again to follow up, I was told—very rudely—that the request had to be entered into the system. When I asked how long it would take, I was told that the more I asked, the longer the wait would be—essentially, I was being threatened. Five minutes later, I was informed that they had no extra blankets, leaving us to simply freeze. I spent over $1,000 only to receive such appalling and rude service. Do not waste your money on this hotel.

I had booked the Annapolis ballroom for my wedding reception, as well as multiple hotel rooms (both suite and regular) for guests flying in internationally, so this review is not only for me, but for multiple family members who had a terrible first time in Maryland.
My guests had to change rooms multiple times because of the broken ac despite it being "fixed/checked out" and they were basically baking in their rooms in the middle of WINTER. Everyone had to sit in the lobby or come over to my suite just to cool down (and also microwave anything). We were even initially given a regular, hot room instead of of the suite we paid for, so we had to keep moving our luggages up and down as we got that corrected. I had a complaint that the tv wouldn't even connect. This hotel had nothing else other than several meeting rooms and a gym. Free breakfast is not included, a ticket is required for it.
As for the reception process, we worked with Zimmerman and he withheld information about food & beverage service costs because we had to book with them first to find out. This particular venue had caught my eye because of its unique layout and I was on a time crunch, so we decided to just move forward with the venue despite that red flag. He had decided to quit in the middle of our contract, and trying to get in contact with his replacements & chain of command was such an inconvenience. He had also overstepped his boundaries with my sister, who was my wedding planner/point of contact for all vendors.
On the day of the reception, I had asked multiple people at the front desk to put a sign on the nearby meeting room that it was reserved because people kept walking in while we were trying to set up. One man said sure, but I noticed no one was actually doing anything about it, so I had to keep watch myself & make my own sign despite being extremely busy. The pillars in the ballroom made it difficult to settle on interior design, and it was inevitable that many guests' views were blocked.
The only convenient things I can list were an accessibility ramp leading to our ballroom and the bathrooms right beside it.
No woman should ever feel the stress I did for their own wedding. I absolutely hated that day and will forever regret booking with this location. If you are on a budget, time crunch, or whatever your situation may be, consider doing business literally anywhere else. People have better experiences at their high school proms than this.
