I had a reservation held with a credit card. I was coming into town a bit late (9PM). They called me at 8:23PM to ensure I was coming. I was in a restroom and didn't answer my phone. My reservation was immediately cancelled when I didn't pick up the phone. Gone. I had a car full of cold food and nowhere to stay. They offered me no solution. I will not stay here again. I can't trust them to honor a rearvation.

Updated 8/3 to respond to Manager and provide additional updates:
Firstly, I want to state that yes, we do appreciate you all calling us about the item left behind in our room. And we were able to get it back. I do want to state that we felt rushed to get out of there because we felt so uncomfortable, which is why it was left behind.
Secondly, as soon as we checked-in, I already had a feeling this establishment was NOT accommodating because there was a couple in front of us that had checked in and stated that their hotel room smelled like weed and smoke. The front desk stated that they did NOT have ANY other available rooms for them to switch into. This was shocking to hear because he didn't suggest any other options for this couple, even though the hotel parking lot did NOT look full.
Also, this is the first hotel room we have ever been to where we've requested items for the room such as towels and sheets/extra pillows. And when we called the front desk, he stated that WE had to go downstairs to grab it. I understand that front desk may not be able to go to each room to respond to requests but there were plenty of maintenance staff that could've helped with this.
I wanted to further clarify our issues with front desk. We booked the room for 2 nights and the front desk called us BOTH nights - very late. Again, this was after both of our kids had already fallen asleep. He stated the room down below kept hearing stomping and loud noises. My husband had to go down the 2nd night to speak to the front desk to ask that he STOP calling us and to confirm with the room down below that it was NOT us.
In regards to the check-out incident, I want to state that my husband left the room at 9am to pack up our stuff in the car. And the front desk guy (conveniently) knocked then tried to open our door 10 minutes later -- again with myself and kids in the room. This is VERY concerning and again, he stated that he heard from maintenance that we had already checked out. If this was the case, why didn't he just call us - like he did in previous nights to state that we were loud? And why did he try to get into our room after just ONE knock? Again, this made us feel VERY uncomfortable. My husband went to talk to the front desk about this (which again had very little/no response - other than apologizing) and asked to get the manager's information.
I want to state that I haven't received a phone call from the manager to check-in about this - like she shared below.
-----------------
Horrible place. Front Desk kept harassing us late at night and calling stating the room below us were complaining about noise and stomping- but our whole family were already asleep. And then morning of check out at 9am front desk shows up at our door about to come in (when Im in the shower) stating he already got notice that we already had checked out (check out time is at 11). Very sketchy establishment and rooms are quite small too. Definitely not coming back.

Do not use side entrance of hotel unless you enjoy walking through the smoke and smell of weed, several times people were out there smoking! Staff are NOT HELPFUL AT ALL, over two hours people above me banging things and stomping on the floor, staff said walked hallway and didn't hear anything, REALLY!?!?! So I basically for a night to get no sleep. Rooms are extremely small for a candlewood, never have been to one this small before, bathroom door just misses the toliet to close, door won't open all the way, bottom scrapes floor. Also, if trains keep you up may want to choose another place, didn't keep me up because i wasn't sleeping anyway. If you want a good night's sleep, DO NOT PICK THIS HOTEL!!!

Despite the rooms being very new and well furnished, the room had an overwhelming smell of mildew that was beyond acceptable. I ended up leaving at 5:00 a.m. because I could not stand the smell any longer.
