  Overall stay was ok. Although the staff at the front desk was nice, they could/would not provide smaller bills for the vending machine after the credit card scanner wouldn't work. Breakfast was good, and the fresh yogurt machine was a plus. In the room, there were smells from the AC, heat wouldn't work and the beds were extremely lumpy and I kept falling into "the dip" as I slept - tried both beds, same. Had to put a pillow at my back so I wouldn't fall into it. Tiny tiny tiny bathroom my husband had trouble moving around in. Awkward too bc the sink is not in the bathroom and right near beds. One plus was that despite a full hotel, we did not hear much from the hall or rooms next door which is rare at a hotel. Would we stay again? No

  I realize that where the hotel is at geographically, the price is higher, it's just that the room was very dated and the bathroom door was out of line in that I had to push quite hard to close it, and around the door jam hardware, they had put drywall screws to keep the door from separating. The continental breakfast was nice. They had biscuits and sausage gravy available along with scrambled eggs and sausage patties. They had the usual waffle maker, bagels, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee.

  Good place to rest your head but ask for the first floor because there is no elevator. Breakfast is free and not to bad if you are on the run and in a rush.

  We stay at many Best Westerns and Best Western Plus. This is one of my least favorite locations. Unfortunately, it’s the only Best Western in Frederick, MD. Walking through the hallway and as soon as we opened our door to our room, there was a musty smell that stayed throughout our 2 night stay. The carpet had a weird feel on my feet, a dampness maybe from condensation from the air conditioner? I ended up putting a towel on the carpet so I wouldn’t have to walk on it. When we got home, we had to wash all of our clothes, which had that same musty smell. The room had a sofa and desk, along with a fridge, small microwave, free WiFi and tv. The bed was comfy but had small pillows. Tiny bathroom with small tub/shower and toilet. Toilet paper was to the left of toilet, which made it awkward reaching for it behind you. The toilet seat was on crooked as well. The sink is outside of bathroom. The shampoo/conditioner is tiny sized and hard to get anything out. They only put 1 of each? Rooms could definitely use a revamp. Breakfast offerings were typical for a Best Western. Scrambled eggs and sausage patties were okay. This was my first time seeing a bunch of staff grabbing breakfast as well around 8:30am, which is when most guests are coming down for breakfast. Front desk did not have the usual 2 bottles of water at check in. They said they ran out.

  Updating as management has clarified that the rate was adjusted and while they are insisting my airpods were not left behind they have issued points as a resolution. I have reached out to this hotel individually and Best Western customer service multiple times to come to a resolution following close to a week long stay at the end of August and have yet to make contact with management! I requested a full print out of charges at checkout and due to how they managed my stay within their system they were unable to provide and despite asking to speak with management upon checkout I have yet to hear from them. On the second day of my stay, the smoke detector was going off every 2 or so minutes with a low battery signal- I visited the front desk 3 times requesting new batteries before the front desk agent came to remove the smoke detector in absence of replacement batteries. On the third night there was a mouse in my room and I was moved without offers of any additional solutions or compensation. The pool was down my entire stay and when I asked if I could sit outside near the pool I was told no. The side door was left open often and I believe contributed to the smell of cigarette smoke wafting into the halls and rooms on the first floor this may also be how the mouse got in. After checking out I realized I had mistakenly left my brand new airpods in the room. I knew this because they were showing to be at the property in find my app. I called and the front desk agent indicated they had not been turned in but that they would reach out to the housekeeping team and get back to me, this was the day of checkout Aug. 28 and I have still not been followed up with. As a single female, I did not feel safe during my stay and would highly recommend choosing another hotel to stay at in Frederick, Maryland.
