Desperately in need of a renovation! The rooms are dark & musty, the shower control was broken, the carpet felt “wet”, only one of the two dedicated phone charging outlets worked (which was noticed the next morning when my phone was dead), the breakfast was literally “out of order” with handwritten signs on the drink dispenser and what looked like fake plastic eggs & sausage. I couldn’t leave this place fast enough.

Very low-quality hotel with many issues including door security that they are aware of but have chosen not to fix. This was not the level of quality that we normally get from a Holiday Inn Express. Staff seems very used to the same complaints from guests. I would encourage everyone to seek accommodations elsewhere.

Hubby & I used to stay here all the time when we go to Commanders games. This time we were here for a family reunion. This place was not what we remembered. It must be under new ownership or something. First of all, we asked for additional towels & washcloths because we had 4 people and not 3 (we had 2 kids) and the housekeeper seemed to have a problem with it. A whole attitude. Wanted us to give her the dirty towels to replace for the new ones she was giving us, but we didn’t have it. Duh. Took kids to the pool two days in a row, 2nd day no beach towels. Requested them from front desk, never got it. So went to the laundry area that was near the pool and asked for some. Breakfast could have been better. The eggs tasted like powdered eggs and the pancake machine made these teeny tiny pancakes. The back door that is supposed to be locked, was always open, especially at night. Not sure if it was workers or whoever sitting there right at the door smoking. Felt a little unsafe. Below is additional things that I noticed:
* Toilet handle loose - pic below
* Shower plug was extremely hard to pull. Took all my strength to pull it out
* Carpet in room felt nasty
* Bathroom floor was sticky
* Some of the plugs aren’t working.
* Hallway rugs were dirty - pic below
* Office chair in room was missing a chunk from the arm of the chair. Looked like it came from a thrift store - fabric was worn.
* Last day woke up to the room smelling like sewage.
* Bathroom walls were dirty

This is the second time I have stayed at this Holiday Inn, and unfortunately I have received poor customer service both times.
On this visit, I reserved two rooms for my family. When we went to breakfast, there was no table available for five people, so we combined two tables—one with four chairs and another with two chairs—so we could sit together.
The breakfast attendant immediately approached us in an irritated manner and told us to move the smaller table back to its original place. I explained that we were all together as one family, but she walked away murmuring under her breath. Her attitude made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.
What made the situation even more upsetting was that we later saw other guests combining tables in the same way, and they were not told to separate them or treated the way we were. Because of this difference in treatment, my family and I felt discriminated against, and it gave us the impression that we were treated differently because of who we are. That experience was deeply hurtful.
I later tried to discuss the situation with the front desk representative, hoping my concerns would be taken seriously. Unfortunately, he seemed uninterested and dismissive, which made the situation even more disappointing.
I understand that hotels have policies, but those policies should be applied consistently and all guests should be treated with courtesy, respect, and fairness. This experience left a very negative impression on my family and me. I hope Holiday Inn will investigate this incident and ensure that all guests are treated equally and respectfully in the future.
