Nothing extravagant but very clean, very quiet, and affordable. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Warm and cold selection. Staff friendly and professional.

I don't enjoy giving negative reviews, but there were a few things that made this place to stay a poor choice for us. My wife booked this as they took animals, but their fee is excessive for this $50 per night. Room was smallish and the air conditioning was fussy to keep a stable temperature. Accommodations were clean. Body washes and shampoos were empty as my wife found out while attempting to shower on her first night. Shower was nice but no seating in it for physically challenged people. Only one small chair with rollers to sit in and watch TV, not even a good seating chair. Without a chair there was only the bed to sit on which is not always a comfortable option. Bed was softish, not a great fit for me. Toilets sat low it seemed with no grab bar to use to help get up. For seniors or physically challenged people that would be a negative. Small refrigerator and no microwave. Parking was plentiful and convenient. Breakfast bar was the same modest choice of hot foods with a mixture of muffins or bagels. Only ate it once that was enough. They have an exercise room which appeared to have a few machines. Meant to check it out, but didn't, don't have a comment on it. If you are just looking for a place to sleep then its not ok, but if you will spend more time than that in your room relaxing etc. then it leaves a lot to be desired.

We stayed at the California, MD avid Hotel 9/18/26-9/20. Delightful!! Room was nice, breakfast was quite good. The thing that stood out, were the people! Everyone, was so sweet! We got in real conversations, people were so helpful, friendly. And not just polite friendly, but interacting friendly. My partner was having some slight medical issues and left her purse in the room. The housekeeping woman brought it down to the lobby and gave it to us at breakfast! My partner spilled some of her breakfast, instead of being upset, we were thanked for acknowledging it and bringing it to their attention. Really nice people, everything else was great, but the people were amazing. Insulated ice buckets would be nice and a tray to carry breakfast back to room for late sleepers.

AC does not work. It's permanently set to 72. Can't turn it off.
