  This was one of the worst hotel experiences I had especially with the reception. Before I made the reservation, I ensure that I would be able to have early check-in because of a work meeting, but when I arrived, I was not allowed to check in. I even called an hour ahead to make sure I could check in at 12 PM and when I complained about it, I got no compensation. Second, the woman that works at the reception is quite frankly, the most unprofessional person. Before I made the reservation, I asked for early check-in and late checkout around 5 PM in which she told me that I was unable to do. The people who I made reservations with told me I could do that so I’m unsure of what was the overlap. When I was explaining to her what I was told on the phone, she did not care and didn’t even attempt to resolve my problem. I’m pretty sure she had blonde hair so look out for her working for some bad experiences. Other than that, the hotel wasn’t quiet I could hear every footsteps of the person above me and woke up multiple times because of it. Also, the receptionist people tried to keep me on the phone as long as possible for exclusive offers and when I tell them that I am unable to speak about that right now because I need a straight answer over something else cause I’m driving they literally do not care. It was like some vacation voucher where I told them I needed to get off the phone because I was driving and needed to focus on the road. The woman gave absolutely no regard and continued speaking so overall bad management.

  Rooms could definitely do with a touch up. Stains on the bathtub, loose wallpaper and tiles. Damp carpet. But otherwise decent place if you are just sleeping.

  Keep driving. I’ve stayed in numerous IHG hotels over the years. This one ranks in the lowest of lows. Rooms are moist and beds are wet. The sheets and blankets are all pee stained. Don’t even ask for fresh ones. The dehumidifier in the hallway is way too small for the space and wasn’t even running because it was full. They staff is unpleasant and the breakfast lady was sleeping instead of doing her job, then will get mad at you for waking her up to restock. The front desk staff is pleasant at face value but anything can tip them over. The pool should be condemned before anyone gets sick or a new bacteria develops. This place needs some serious management improvement. Again, just keep driving or sleep in your car.

  As I stayed at Holiday Inn last night, Swansea, MA unit is almost identical to Durham, NH. Reasonable complementary parking, Wi-Fi, and breakfast. I am heading to NJ tomorrow for two nights at Holiday Inn Express. Total 5 nights at same franchise chain units. I like Holiday Inn Express for many reasons, but I listed above, so I will skip those comments. Hope to enjoy another nights!
