We went to Blue Water for a few nights over the 4th of July. Most of the staff were college kids from overseas. They were nice, but under resourced and seemingly not at all supervised. Upon check in it took literally two and a half hours to get enough towels and pillows for our family (it took 4 trips to the front desk too...) and to the rollaway bed that was part of our reservation. When we went to the beach the next morning they had no towels, despite being part of a beach resort and advertising towels umbrellas and chairs. They were also no available umbrellas that weren't broken. In part because they were a lot of non-resort guests that were taking the umbrellas and nobody was enforcing the wristbands, but in part because they did not have enough umbrellas that were not broken. One of the girls from overseas told me that they had been telling management for weeks that they did not have enough umbrellas. It was super hot that weekend and the beach was unbearable without shade. They eventually got beach towels but the shortage persisted all weekend. The air conditioning in our room barely functioned, it was humid and hot most of the weekend to the degree we actually went home a night early because no one wanted to be miserable for another night. The hotel agreed to credit me half the cost of one of the nights, which seems very inadequate given what we paid in the number of problems we encountered, because I don't want to write a book I only hit a few of them, but they were more. In short, management seems to just leave these kids to their own devices without any resources to actually deliver a good experience for the guests. I'm sure managers existed I'm also sure they weren't out supporting the kids working there and the hotel was a disaster as a result. Very disappointing considering it was not exactly a cheap hotel.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE, DON'T COME HERE !!!!! My Husband, Daughter , and I have been coming to Blue Water since the Summer of 2020. This is our home away from home in the Summer. We were so excited for our first trip of the Summer of 2026, but ended up being very disappointed within the first hour of arriving at the resort. We checked in on 6/28/26 we got to the resort at 2:00 pm , and they said your room will be ready within the hour. We said okay, we'll grab a bite to eat outside at the Blue Water Bar . We stood in line for over 30 mins only to be told they ran out of food ...they said the chef went to go get more food come back in an hour . This is a very busy popular resort, how do you run out of food . We went elsewhere for food . At 5:30 I got a text message that our room was ready. Monday 6/29 we went to the beach at 9am , and we went to get 3 towels, and we were told they had " no towels" come back about 10:30 🙄 We were super annoyed at this point, Day#1 they ran out of food , Day #2 no towels ...and here's Day #3 My daughter and I spent the entire day at the beach , indoor pool and hot tub at Blue Water .We were gone from the room at 9:30am and did not return back to the room until 5:30pm. When I returned back to my room I went to hang my own personal towel outside my room over the bannister and I noticed the screen to my window was on the ground (window is approximately 4ft x4 ft) . So now I'm out there trying to put the screen back in . I come into the room , and pull up the double blind and notice the lock was broken off the window as well. This is NOT OKAY !!!! So I've basically been staying in a room the past 2 nights that wasn't safely secured. Anybody could of easily got into my room , by climbing through the window . When you walk by my room you can clearly see 2 two huge windows, one showing a secured gray lock , and one with a busted lock , and screen hanging out . The screen was originally on the ground when I got back from the beach, and I tried to put it back in the window myself but I couldn't get it back in. I went downstairs and informed the clerk at the front desk the screen was on the ground , and lock was broke , and asked her if I can switch rooms ..she said NO , we have no vacant rooms available tonight . I call bullshit because I walked by so many rooms that were vacant. I said so what do I do ? I don't feel safe staying in a room with a broken lock on the window, especially since my husband went home early this morning to go to work, I said my daughter and I will be staying in the room by ourselves until the remainder of our trip which is on Wednesday 7/1. She said I can have maintenance come up and fix it, but I don't know what time that will be at. I said will it be tonight , she said I don't know. I was so upset, that I called my husband in hysterics crying, telling him I didn't feel safe staying in a room overnight with my daughter with a broken window and screen partially in . He drove over an hour back to Yarmouth, so my daughter and I can feel safe in our room . This is suppose to be a family resort, and safety should be there top priority ..in this case it wasn't. They didn't seem to care about my safety or my daughters . I paid a lot of money to stay here for 3 nights, and it has been nothing a disappointment, I NEVER write reviews, but being a parent, I other parents a heads up about

I can't say enough great things about Blue Water resort. It was such a perfect getaway for my husband, toddler and I. We selected a "full beach view" room with a king and bunk beds. The beach view is unbeatable. You're RIGHT on the beach, it literally does not get any better. The room was extremely clean, Im a bit of a clean freak and had no complaints whatsoever about tidiness. The resort is a bit older so some chipped paint or something of the sort is expected here and there, but I think that just adds to the rustic, cape cod charm. The indoor pool area was really neat and charming. The pools and beach were also so clean. It was truly exceptional. Everyone was extremely friendly and the amenities were great. If I had to say anything, it would be to make sure you're going "in-season" if you want the full amenities. When we booked, everything just said "seasonal", but didn't list dates. Our mid-June vacation unfortunately ended up being the week before their in-season, so there were no activities for my kiddo and the restaurants weren't always open when they said they would be. With that being said, the beach and pools were so amazing we really didn't need much else. You're also very close to some activities: pirate museum, nature preserves/wildlife sanctuaries, a water park, shopping districts....if you're looking for a delicious meal, go to the Skipper. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

This place is an absolute hidden gem!! I read all reviews before i booked, and was very skeptical. Believe me - I dont mind writing negative reviews when and where is needed, but this place - the people who put bad ratings must have different problems. This place is absolutely amazing, great location, all staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast is ok - nothing crazy, but enough. Location is absolutely fabulous. Right on the beach - which is well maintained, water was crystal clear. You have long chairs (you dont awlays get an umbrella, but if you insist - you will) very chill vibe, they have a bar and food near the pool and beach, honestly - if the rate is normal (not over $300) it is the best place around that you can stay. Rooms are nice and spacious, its not too crowded, you have much privacy on the beach, you can also go to the beach at night, nobody will bother you and tell you that you cannot do this or that. Absolutely would come back here annually!
