When we arrived, one of the beds for our party of 3 was not made (just a bare mattress). We notified the front desk and when housekeeping came they handed the sheets over and we were told to make the bed ourselves. Also this hotel’s amenities (pool, etc) close extremely early and we weren’t able to utilise them.

I called the hotel about two weeks before my trip to request rooms next to each other because this was a family trip. When we arrived to check in, we were told they could not accommodate the request unless we waited about two hours for housekeeping to clean the rooms. Since it was only a one-day trip, we decided to take separate rooms rather than wait. There was also a $50 hold placed on each room for the night, but I was only refunded $20. When I called to ask about the remaining $30, I was told it was a parking fee. Completely fine but the hotel’s website listed parking as $20, not $30. There were a few other instances where I felt the information advertised online did not match what we experienced. Since this was only a one-day trip, I decided to let it go, but overall, the experience felt a bit misleading.

The room we stayed in was very old-fashioned, and the overall facilities are in need of renovation. Unfortunately, the breakfast was not good either. Although we had already paid for breakfast for half of our stay, we ended up not going at all. The hotel is also located outside the city center, and it takes about a 10–15 minute walk to reach the metro station. Overall, it was not a satisfying experience, and I would not choose this hotel again.

Be Fair warned. Do not stay here. The front desk was rude when we arrived. First of all, when I booked this room on the apt it did not mention a cost for incidentals, so I use a bank card that I use only for hotels in case I have to dispute a charge etc... when I went to pay once arrived i was short of the incidentals of $50 per day. I asked if I could use my credit card to pay for the incidentals. Women said no and just sat there staring at me. finally asked if there was a manager I could speak with as it appeared the women wanted us to leave the hotel. She went to speak to a manager who came back and said no problem with splitting the payment. Got to our room and I can tell you, incidentals is the last thing they need to be charging. The room had so much damage. Cabinet the fridge was in was broken, shower head dangled from the wall. The thermostat was broken off the wall and two of the widows was so dirty you couldn't even look out. The bed was the only decent part of the room. After visiting the city we returned and thought it would be good to go to the pool. Now the pool area is nice as it appears fairly updated. But the heated pool was ice cold so we got out immediately and left. During the night the room next door, it sounded like the person was either throwing up or choking all night long. Hotel was not busy so putting people next to each other made zero sense. The next morning we went down to breakfast which note if you stay Holiday Inn you pay for breakfast but if you stay at the Holiday Inn express you don't. The food was cold as noted there was only one heater under the eggs but not on the rest of the items. We again went out to visit the city and decided to give the pool another try. This time it appeared the heater was going as the water was tolerable. On our return from the pool, we noticed that the restaurant is empty as it was the night we checked in, so we decided to check it out. Well first thing DO NOT GET A DRINK or you will pay. The wife and I both got a drink which comes in a 8-10once glass so 1/2 ounce of alcohol was used. So we had two over our meal and I decided to take one to our room. Well 5 drinks 2 1/2 ounces of Vodka cost us $70. And that was not some expensive Vodka. Tito's. I could of purchased 3 bottles for that price. So avoid drinking at the bar. The next morning (Monday) we were awoken by housekeeping at 8 a.m. banging on our door. Way to early to be knocking on someone's door. During our stay I received a text asking how my stay was which I indicated a 1 meaning terrible. I explained all the situations we had and the response was "What would you like us to do to make your stay better"? I told them that we had one day left before heading home and that we would stay away from the hotel as much as possible. What I don't understand is why didn't this person suggest some reasonable accommodations for our remaining day. Now after returning home, I've notice pain in the bottom of my feet. After speaking with my PCP it appears that I have picked up athlete's foot so I was prescribed a antifungal cream. I am not one to walk around barefoot, so I can only think that i either got it from the hotel room or from the pool area. Note the pool area has the typical floor around the pool but sitting area has a soft mat type material so its hard to say how often this is cleaned. If you are looking at staying in Boston, spend the extra money and stay somewhere else. I will never stay at this Holiday Inn again.
