  I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Candlewood Suites Boston North Shore – Danvers was disappointing from start to finish. While I appreciate that management ultimately discounted two nights of our stay and awarded us 10,000 IHG points, those gestures do not make up for the numerous issues we experienced during our visit. The problems began as soon as we settled into our room. The pull-out sofa bed had what appeared to be blood stains on it, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about cleanliness. The comforter on the main bed was also ripped, giving the room a worn and poorly maintained appearance. The refrigerator in our room didn’t work, forcing us to have it replaced after we had already unpacked. During our stay, the office chair was removed from our room while we were away without anyone notifying us or asking for permission, leaving us confused when we returned. Housekeeping was another major disappointment. Despite requesting room cleaning and being told it had been scheduled, our room was never cleaned. Our hand soap ran out and was never replaced, even after housekeeping should have addressed it. What was perhaps most disappointing was the level of professionalism at the front desk. We overheard staff complaining about us to other guests after we raised legitimate concerns. No guest should ever feel embarrassed or spoken about simply for reporting problems that should have been addressed. None of these issues alone would have ruined our stay, but together they reflected a pattern of poor housekeeping, inadequate maintenance, and unprofessional customer service. While I appreciate that management acknowledged the situation with a partial refund and points, I would have much preferred a clean, functional room and respectful service from the beginning. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this property and would choose another hotel the next time I’m in the Boston area.

  The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. We'll mintained with full kitchen in the room. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Free washer and dryer down the hallway (bring your own detergent). The location is quiet and plenty of parking. The location is nestled right next to an interchange for the highway. It can be a little challenging to get to at first . Use Google maps and trust it when it gives you some unusually strange directions!

  Affordable hotel. The room and bathroom have a good amount of space, and the kitchen is small but functional. We specifically chose the accessible and non-smoking room. Please note that the audio on the TV is out-of-sync but that didn't bother us too much. The location is good as there's convenient access to Route 1, I-95 and Route 114. I would like to point out that the service here was great. The people at the front desk were friendly during check-in and check-out. During the evening, the woman from the front desk helped me locate a hair dryer as the room we were staying in didn't have one. Would stay here again for the affordability, spaciousness, and nice service!

  Staff were very kind and helpful. Rooms were clean, comfy, and functional. Having a costco nearby makes a grocery run easy. Getting to it is kind of weird, but it was a lovely place to stay.
