  Had a strange, unpleasant interaction with the door person here. I went in to use the restroom (not as a guest). The door person asked why I was inside, and I asked if they had a restroom. He said no public restroom (fair, but normal for hotels to let people use their lobby restroom). I said ok, the hotel had a restaurant, so I said I’d buy a drink at the restaurant. He said it was closed. So I left. Outside, I realized it was 1pm and the restaurant had people in it. So I went in and asked the hostess if I could use their restroom, and she gladly said yes and was very kind. The door man was outside when I was leaving, so I asked him why he lied to me, and he said there was a protest going by when I went in (true, a very small protest). He then continued to tell me how this hotel is private property, etc, all true things but not very welcoming things. It felt like a bit of a power trip over a very benign ask. Will not be recommending this hotel. The restaurant seems like it might be nice though!

  Amazing stay. It was my birthday and ended up with birthday cake on two different days delivered to the room. After a red eye flight from Cali they let us check in and have a nap at 6am. Which was an absolute god send. Great service from house keeping. Perfect all round.

  I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Boston. The location is perfect, within steps of Boston Common, the rooms are extremely comfortable and stylish, the staff are extremely inviting and helpful, and the service is impeccable. I've stayed at luxury hotels around the world and I would put this up there in the top tier.

  Noisy! As others mentioned rooms aren’t insulated as they should be and you can literally hear everything on the street, every car that passed, people talking on the street, etc. also as others mentioned the ac can be in hurricane mode or off. Room was beautiful and staff was hit or miss, when checking out with luggage the doormen were hanging out with each other and barely made room for me to pass let alone help with the doormen or luggage, no one bothered to check how the stay is going during the stay or checkout, etc.. In room dining was not bad. Bring your ear plugs if you plan on staying here, not a 5 star experience :/

  We've stayed at hotels all over the world, and XV Beacon is unmatched. The decor is warm and relaxing, with a real appreciation for American history, and our room's fireplace and sound system were unbelievable. The attached photos don't do it justice. The hotel also thought of the little things, like Emergen-C packets, which we put to good use after a long day of travel. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the people. Every staff member went out of their way to make us feel welcome, like we were family rather than guests. Oh and the late night bites were so delicious! The chocolate chip cookies were the best we've ever had. If you're deciding where to stay in Boston, stop looking. Book XV Beacon, order the chocolate chip cookies, and get ready to plan your next trip back. We certainly are!
