Perfect location with staff and service to match. We stayed one night after coming in from Logan, and it was a delight. The hotel location, rooms, staff and service were all top notch. An extra big thank you to the reception staff which were an absolute pleasure. We are walkers, and the location on the waterfront is great if you want to enjoy Boston's location on the and take in great views of the city. You can also just choose to look out of the window (see the picture) :-) I could nitpick (the coffee machine being stuck in a cupboard was a little weird), but to be honest, I would be reaching.

The Boston Marine Society hosted their 284th Annual Ladies Night Dinner at the InterContinental Boston, and the venue proved to be an exceptional setting for such a distinguished maritime tradition. The staff was professional, attentive, and remarkably efficient throughout the evening, especially considering the size of the event. Dinner featured an outstanding menu including beef tenderloin, scallop and lobster tail brochette, fresh spring vegetables, and a delicious chocolate Hampton fudge cake with honey gelato for dessert. Every course was beautifully presented and expertly prepared. The evening also carried a strong sense of maritime tradition with ceremonial elements including the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Honor Guard and the ringing of the Ship’s Bell honoring members lost during the past year. Live entertainment by GQ and the Lady added wonderful energy and atmosphere to the event and helped make the evening even more memorable. Overall, the InterContinental Boston delivered an outstanding experience combining exceptional hospitality, refined dining, and elegant atmosphere in the heart of downtown Boston.

Overall a nice hotel, but showing its age around the edges in the room. Good hard and soft product. The breakfast buffet at Matria is small, but the quality of the food was excellent---meaningfully better or on par with Four Seasons, etc. This was a pleasant surprise. However, the biggest let down was the swimming pool. The water is extremely cloudy (ie cannot see past my face wearing goggles), which points to improper pH balance or some type of growth in the water. Management should really look into this and replace their pool maintenance company.

The stay here was fabulous! The staff are so incredibly friendly, kind and helpful with any of our needs. One to mention was the bellman Humberto, personable, kind and helpful. Rob the concierge provided friendly and great service as well. The rooms are GORGEOUS! The soaking tub was something special and unexpected! We had one issue with room service and the manager handled it right away. The bar Fellini had great cocktails and the bartenders and wait staff were awesome! Overall a 5 star experience from start to finish. Can't wait to come back

Decent location, but overpriced and uncomfortable. I stayed at the Intercontinental Boston for five nights to run the Boston Marathon. Location-wise, the hotel was great--only about 0.7 miles to Boston Common, where the marathon buses leave on marathon morning, and about 1.5 miles from the finish line and expo area. It was nice to be near all the activity but also slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of all the other marathon going-ons. Despite a good location, the hotel itself was highly overpriced and under delivered in terms of comfort. The biggest disappointment was the beds and pillows, which were exceptionally uncomfortable--both the bed and the pillows were firm to the point of being hard, and the pillows were so thick that my head was at a 60 degree angle when trying to sleep...! I slept very poorly the entire week. The room was quiet, however, with very little hotel or street noise. A smaller annoyance was the fridge in the room, which is filled with drinks and snacks that if you move you have to pay for--meaning you couldn't actually use the fridge for leftovers or your own personal drinks. Just a cheap scam to try to make you pay for more things. The room also lacked a microwave, which is just a nice amenity to have. As for the bathroom, it was clean and the shower had good water pressure and enough hot water, so that was nice. We didn't try the bathtub, although it looked relatively good-sized. The fitness center was large and well-equipped, and the pool was nice as well. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, nor would I stay here again. There are many other hotel options in the area, and this one was too expensive and too uncomfortable to be worth it, in my opinion. FYI: The hotel also required an extra payment per night for each additional person over two people who stayed in the room, in spite of the room having two double beds--watch out for this, as it quickly increases the nightly rate!
