  The room has mold in the bathroom and visible mold on the carpet manifesting as mushrooms. It took nearly a week for my allergies to calm down after the stay. I paid for a suite with a kitchenette, which wasn't stocked, even upon request. The tub still had unfinished caulk. I called, left a message with the manager, Johnny, who didn't respond. I sent an email and got a response promissing 10k in points, which doesn't cover the 378.00 for two nights, but even that wasn't issued. I called corporate, who said the GM has the final say, so I will be contacting my credit card company stating my concerns.

  Im staying here at the Holiday Inn Express, Zachary Louisiana for 5 nights.ice machines are at the end of each floor 3 floors. They work when they are working, good luck. On the 3rd day I decided to go swimming, well that didn’t happen because the pool is green with algae growth. He said it was cleaned in the morning and that wasn’t true. I know about cleaning pools needs to be shocked. I had a couple of visits to the front desk and the old man work in the counter seemed more important to what was going on with his personal phone. Well, you would think there’s a maintenance man always on hand, but that’s not the case. The manager is working at his other hotel best Western across the street said I can come over there and go swimming. I don’t think that’ll happen. Talk about lousy service. You would think there would be somebody on grounds at all times to take care of this well the weather is nice here in Zachary, Louisiana 94° humid hot great time for a dip in the pool you would think but I can’t even do that so I’ve been sitting out here by the green pool to see if anybody has came to look at it so far no luck I would like to say I enjoyed staying at Holiday Inn express but now I don’t know. Well, that’s about all I can think of now sorta of a disappointment. We’ll see how long it goes. Oh yeah they did say I could go swim at the Best Western across the street if I wanted too, The owner supposedly owns both.

  Unfortunately, this is probably the best hotel in Zachary, and it still wasn't a great experience. We paid around $150 for a one-night stay, and it took three different rooms before we found one that was acceptable. The first room was visibly dirty. There were smudges on the mirror, stains on the outlets and entryway walls, and a dirty windowsill. I decided to overlook those issues until I went to hang my purse on a wall hook and a roach crawled out. While trying to deal with that, I also noticed a large spider on the ceiling. The second room had an overwhelming chlorine or chemical smell. A mother and daughter had actually requested to be moved out of that same room while we were checking in, but I wanted to see it for myself. The smell was so strong that I didn't even unpack. The third room was an accessible suite with a couch, which I appreciated the staff offering after initially telling us nothing else was available. It was still noticeably dirty but appeared to be bug-free, so we stayed. The front desk staff were patient, kind, and genuinely tried to accommodate us throughout the room changes, and the complimentary breakfast had a great selection and was surprisingly good. Those were easily the highlights of our stay. We were already in town for a funeral, exhausted, and not feeling well, so this experience made an already difficult trip even more stressful. After reading reviews of other hotels in Zachary, I thought this would be the best option. Maybe it is, but for the price, I expected a much cleaner room and a better overall experience. I wouldn't expect this to meet the standard most people associate with a Holiday Inn Express.

  The hotel is old though is great for the price. The people are friendly. Great breakfast.
