I have had to stay here several times. I live out of town, and the VA has put me up here. Let me just say this…if I must stay in Shreveport again, I will not stay here.
You can hear the traffic all night long. Planes, trains, and automobiles. Oh my. Not to mention people slamming their doors all night. The rooms have musty smells. Staff could definitely use some customer service training. The place is outdated, and parking can be a pain.
The proximity to downtown, some dining, casinos, shopping, Barksdale AFB, and the VA is nice. The bar is okay…though pricey. I never tried the restaurant.
Overall…I wouldn't recommend it.

Let's be real honest. I am not picky. I almost never review in the negative because I have stayed in some real crummy hotels in my years and I just suck it up. But I feel this hotel is a real problem. The staff is "whatever" about the problems, although they do resolve things, sort of. The first room they assigned us was a handicapped accessible room, even though we didn't ask for it, but that's ok. However, upon entering the room, the whole suite smelled like raw sewage. Ok, I have a spray, so we can get through it right? Nope, constant stink. The shower was unusable because the chair attached to the shower had been ripped hallway from the wall and was just stuck in the shower, blocking it's usage. So I talked to the reception and the answer was "we will send maintenance", and in a tone that reflected that we were the problem. No. We requested a new room and they obliged. The new room was much better, except that the curved shower door proceeded to fall on me when I attempted to close it. It was completely detached from the wall. Luckily it was me and not my wife or daughter, because that door is heavy. Ok, so I will just shower and be done right? Nope. The shower handle itself was nearly detached and just spins with no effect.
Look, I have stayed in Shreveport a few times. Just stay at the Holiday inn Express across the street if you want to start in this area. This hotel is pretty bad overall.

Located in downtown and clientele was a bit dicey, biker types and obviously frequented by folks who looked a bit rough and raggedy. Has a big bar attached that caters to same. The day after we left, a person was killed outside the bar. Hotel very old and certainly not the standard expected for a Holiday Inn. Beds were clean and well appointed. Water faucet in bathroom sink only let a trickle if hot water out. Shower fine! Floors could have been more carefully vacuumed. I gave to say the staff was understanding when I told him I had concerns about staying there. He reviewed the room himself before he gave it to us. I would definitely not be out in this neighborhood at night.

Rudest front desk ever. You also cannot understand what that person is saying as he just mumbles. The hotel oversold its reservation and just freaking turned my father away at 3:00 AM!!! They failed to provide any resolution and apologies. My father had to drive around after a long roadtrip for a night stay. Shame on you IHG. I am also a platinum member. Seriously considering abandoning this chain.

The picture's online are deceiving. The lobby was pretty but smells like straight cigarettes when you walk in. The guy at the front was nice until i asked why the price of my room went from $78 to $117 at check out. Still doesnt make sense to me. They have breakfast but you have to pay $13 for it. They are already over charging for their rooms. Its not worth the money they ask for it reminds me of the motel 6 and to be honest a motel 6 is probably better than this. I have IHG rewards, ive stayed at many Holiday inns and this is NOT it. Theres 2 elevators to the whole hotel and you have to wait a long time to get in one. Once you do, they also smell like cigarettes. This hotel gives Holiday Inn a bad rep. My room smells like straight Mildow its sticky and musty in the room, water pressure was great but the tub didnt drain, the tub was practically Full by the time i was done with my shower. The floors are dirty and the rooms weren't cleaned very well. The only thing that was alright was the bed, it was pretty comfy. Oh and parking was ridiculous. Trucks that are way too big shouldnt park at the front of the hotel there's just not enough space to pass through the parking lot because its such a small area I had to squeeze between two large trucks parked across from one another. The front should be for compact vehicles only. There is a parking garage but its a little sketchy there were people just sitting in there smoking 🚬 and drinking. My room was non refundable and walking away from $117 these days just isnt feasible, otherwise I would have got my money back the moment I walked in my room.
