  The staff the entire time were great. Brooks was the first person we saw and was helpful with his service and knowledge of the area. Kentrel was very friendly and swiftly answered all of our questions and constantly inquiring about how our stay was going. First time traveling with a baby and the St. James staff were oh so friendly every time we saw them. Also want to point out the staff member the woman from New York with a smile making sure where to make my late night food orders. It’s easy to find less than stellar food, late night. My last thumbs up goes to the Bartender I had the pleasure of meeting my first night who held conversation with all of her patrons, with a smile. I had the fortune of being there during a half off Jim Beam weekend. The bar in there has a whole lot of potential really surprised it wasn’t packed every night. Okay my one thorn about my stay has to be the lack of surface area (table top space) the outlets were plentiful however the huge Lamps that were settled atop the one small nightstand splitting two queen beds was not enough. Smaller lamps would have helped a little or maybe just a bigger nightstand. Thanks St. James Hotel it was fun

  We received a discounted stay here, and even then, it was too much. The hotel’s amenities are barely working. Ice machine? Broken. Windows? Broken. So loud at night. Fan in the bathroom? Doesn’t work. Dust? Everywhere behind everything. Outlets by the bed? Broken. Water accessibility? Nope go downstairs to the bar. Parking? Super expensive. The pool? Oh my god no. Gross. Paper thin walls would be too nice for this hotel. Let’s try, 1 ply. Barely slept most nights from the trash trucks, and employees throwing trash out right outside our (broken) window. There’s no barrier at all. No fans in the room in NOLA is an interesting choice. The room got very muggy very quickly. Location is nice, 15 minute walk to the heart of everything but, if you don’t like to walk, this is probably not for you. This hotel does let you bring bikes inside, which is a huge plus for us. The staff is great. Quick to help. No complaints. My wife had stayed here previously and said her experience was much worse in the 2 queen bed room vs our 1 king bed room. Overall, not the worst stay in NOLA by far, but not worth the premium price.

  The team at voco St. James is absolutely fantastic! Wanna give Christine and Anthony a shout out! Both were friendly, helpful, and we had great conversations and recommendations from them. I used the "text the front desk" service as we were boarding our flights. We had so many airport issues and I kept updating them. Kentrell was incredibly responsive and friendly through text. The hotel itself is gorgeous. I saw some comments saying everything was old but nothing was creaking or damaged, it just gave a glamour old-world vibe which fits New Orleans! The room itself is very cute and the bed is awesome!! Very comfortable and clean! It's raised and there's a little step stool to get up which we thought was adorable! Lastly, the location. The hotel is situated very close to Canal St, right outside the French Quarter. It's a 10 min walk to Bourbon St, 15 min walk to Jackson Square. The area is well lit with other popular hotels and restaurants nearby. We thought it was a great spot and quiet from the more busy areas. One more thing! I mentioned in the booking it was my boyfriend's birthday. They put a cupcake in our room! The sweetest little touch! Would 100% come back

  First visit to New Orleans and this hotel made it really convenient. Walking distance to French Quarter and Canal st. Plus so many restaurants in the area alone. I enjoyed my stay here even though it was short. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back next time I’m in town.
