I stayed here during Essence Festival this past week, and I absolutely loved everything about this hotel! It was incredibly convenient in every way; from the complimentary breakfast to the perfect location, which was close to literally everything. The service was exceptional from start to finish.
A special shoutout to Adam, Andre, Rubin, Sharmaine (sorry if I misspelled), and Ms. Tiffany for going above and beyond to make my stay so enjoyable. You all made the experience even more memorable!
The next time I'm in New Orleans, you can bet I'll be booking this hotel again. Highly recommend!

We arrived on a Monday late evening. Although the front office staff was friendly, and accommodating we had concerns. We were checked in and as my parents walked into their room they saw that their room had a soaked carpet with buckets on floor from dripping water from ceiling. Yes, the front staff quickly accommodated and assigned another room on the same floor as us. Note: When we arrived we were told that there was no space for my parents to stay on the same floor as us, but when addressed about the soaked carpets and buckets they were assigned a room on same floor as us.
Our room had 2 queen beds with no closet, yet it was listed as a suite. When addressed to front desk we were told that that was the only room they had available with 2 queen beds. So, we placed all our bags on the floor. The dresser draws were wonky and difficult to pull out this is why our luggage existed on the floor, then on our 2nd night, the A/C decided to stop working in the early morning hours. We called the front desk when we felt the discomfort at 4 am. At this hour of 4 am front staff wanted to move us to another room, even though we were checking out at 9 am. NO discount was offered to us for the inconvenience, we were told that because we refused to move to another room there was nothing they could do that it was our responsibility to call down immediately when we noticed that the A/C did not come back on. Note: We were asleep, we called when we felt the discomfort.
Breakfast bar: Yes, the breakfast is hot, and the lady tending to customers is a hard worker, always checking temps of food. However, the milk in fridge for coffee and oatmeal was sour/expired on both nights that we stayed. We were instructed to get the small carton milks for coffee and oatmeal. Also, the coffee machine kept breaking down. Again, being inconvenienced.
As explained to front desk staff, we have been IHG members for several years, and we have seen a decline of quality in several IHG suites. This IHG hotel (Holiday Inn/ART district) in New Orleans has been the most that we have been inconvenienced, and nothing was offered to us to try and make up for the early discomfort we had experienced. This hotel is a NO for us.

The front desk gentleman Rubin, is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. He was great. However, he issued us a room that was already occupied, we opened the door to find another families belongings. On top of that, we paid for the parking $40-$50 and woke up to a boot on our vehicle. There were gun shots outside and bums everywhere. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The room had pubic hairs all over the shower. Do not recommend.

Genuine review. This has been one of the worst hotel I have lived in the entire US so far. For the amount you pay, Rooms are average and bathrooms are super small. Water pressure is worse…Some of the front desk members working in the morning don’t care at all about the services. Requested 3 times to get the bathroom cleaned and no one showed up. Manager has been kind enough to help us with whatever limited options he had.
I would recommend staying somewhere else for a peace of mind even if that means paying little extra.

EDIT: the hotel’s response is a joke. The number they suggested is literally the number for the hotel, that I’ve BEEN calling in regards to this matter. I did leave a description and the room number I was in, but was shrugged off several times by the majority of the people who I spoke to. I literally have their number saved to my contacts because of the amount of times I called. I even emailed, using the email given to me by the reservations lady, which also matched the email on their website, and no answer. My friend even called and she was actually laughed at. I’m happy that you guys get to live on your lives without dealing with loss, because that stuffed animal was the last tangible thing I had left of my grandmother and y’all tossed it like trash. Y’all are a shitty hotel and don’t take your customers seriously.
Stayed here last week for a night and left a stuffed animal that’s extremely sentimental to me. Called the hotel multiple times over multiple days to see if housekeeping had found it, but it was not in the lost and found. For some reason, during the initial call, the lady told me to wait 3 days until the supervisor is back to call again. How does that make sense? Why does a supervisor need to be present to check lost and found? I’m devastated because that’s the only thing I have left of my grandmother who passed away. I can’t believe they would toss something without even caring. I know this is the cheapest hotel, but please go somewhere else. It’s not worth it if this is how belongings are treated.
