Beautiful building! My room was absolutely stunning, immaculate, well cared for during my stay, and decorated so well! I had a great time at the pool, loved walking the riverfront, and really enjoyed this hotel’s proximity to top notch shopping and dining in the city. I spent more time on Magazine Street than I did in the French Quarter, and liked that I was close to both options. Staff was incredibly kind and attentive. Great room service options, and I was delighted by the L’Occitane products they stock.

When we checked in the gave us our keys and we went to park when we walked in the room it was occupied. The guy was upset as were we. Several people were complaining about the hotel. It’s under new management. We will never stay there again.

I coordinated a private, high-touch event at the Four Seasons New Orleans, and the experience was deeply disappointing—particularly given the standard this brand represents. As the lead event planner, I was responsible for the full execution and client experience. During a critical stage of final preparation, I was abruptly directed to remove large-scale vendor equipment—items that did not belong to me and should have been addressed earlier during vendor load-in. This was not a simple request; it required physically handling heavy production materials at the exact moment my attention needed to be on my client and the event’s final presentation. While safety compliance is understood, the way this situation was handled demonstrated a clear lack of foresight, coordination, and professional respect. The tone and delivery from the Director of Catering, Conferences, Services Sales and Marketing were not only inappropriate, but condescending—completely misaligned with the level of partnership expected when working with experienced planners. What is most concerning is that this behavior did not remain behind the scenes. My client felt the tension and energy of the interaction to the extent that he chose to remove himself from her presence entirely in order to maintain focus during one of the most important moments of his life—his proposal. That alone speaks volumes. As a direct result of how this was handled, I was pulled away from my responsibilities, missed critical preparation time, and was forced to receive my client in a condition that did not reflect my professional standards—something I have never experienced in my career. This was not an isolated misstep—it reflected a broader breakdown in communication, lack of proactive planning, and a failure to support the event at a level consistent with a luxury property. The burden of that failure was shifted onto me at the worst possible time. I am very intentional about where I place my clients. Based on this experience, I would not confidently recommend the Four Seasons New Orleans for events requiring precision, professionalism, and true client care.

My wife and I stayed for five days last week at the Four Seasons New Orleans, and I will never run out of good things to say about our time there: The staff was universally kind, responsive, professional, and accommodating. The property is gorgeous, clean, and extremely well-maintained. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, pristine, tranquil, and very beautiful (with the exception noted below). The restaurants and bar are terrific, with great food (even by New Orleans standards), attentive service, and delicious cocktails. Special mentions of the great kindness shown us by the doormen during our stay, and the amazing expertise of the concierge staff (especially Randy, who recommended the excellent Cochon Butcher). Our early arrival was accommodated without hesitation, and we were upgraded to an Executive suite via the Amex Fine Hotels program. The suite was beautiful! Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom , lovely sitting area, and great views of the city and even a bit of the river. Very quiet except for the occasional train and boat whistles, for which the hotel cannot be blamed. Our one complaint was relating to an inexplicable room design decision: There is a large window in the wall between the bedroom and bathroom area, which is controlled only by a louvered wooden shutter. This opening permits sound, moist air, and odors from the toilet and shower to travel undiminished into the bedroom, significantly compromising the comfort and privacy of each room. I have seen this trend of an open-plan non-private bathroom emerge at other properties and will always consider such a design both deplorable and pernicious. I am extremely disappointed to see it adopted by Four Seasons.
