It was our first time in New Orleans and we were very pleased with our hotel. The staff were all very kind and professional, but one stood out above the rest. Mr. Eric was so kind and so patient with us and our 4 kids. He let them feel like they were helping when he was storing our bags waiting for our room to be ready and had them laughing. He also remembered them the next day and all of their conversations they had. He made a great impression and I hope the hotel recognizes what a wonderful person they have working for him!

Our room is a 14ft tall beige cube, bathroom with no fan, a dirty Keurig and outlets so old they don't hold on to anything. Honestly the price worked out to about $100 a night so I can't complain about motel 6 quality, I'm okay with it. My problem though is the building to the south east. Our view out of the full wall windows is a brick wall, and down in the alley way they move metal bins around with forklifts, banging into stuff and yelling at all hours of the day. Ear plugs were required and even then sleep wasn't great. I can forgive almost anything depending on the price but sleep is like the one reason I need the room right?

My husband and I recently visited New Orleans from Chicago and had a wonderful stay at the Astor Crowne Plaza in the French Quarter. I want to give a special thank you to Byron and Juan for truly going above and beyond.
We initially had a few difficulties with our room, but they handled everything immediately and professionally. Not only did they resolve the issue quickly, but they also upgraded our room and made sure we were completely comfortable for the rest of our stay.
What stood out most was how genuinely kind and attentive they were—they made us feel welcomed, cared for, and honestly like family. Their hospitality completely turned our experience around and made our trip even more memorable.
The location is fantastic, the atmosphere is lively, and thanks to Byron and Juan, the service was exceptional. We’ll absolutely be returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New Orleans!
10/10 experience.

IHG Diamond Elite Members take note: Hotel has "opted out" of the Free breakfast amenity. Didn't realize a hotel could (or should) unilaterally circumvent IHG's crystal-clearly stated benefits and deny the most attractive option of being IHG Diamond. This is not noted or mentioned anywhere on their website or during the booking process. Nor is it disclosed (as it absolutely should be) in any of the email/text messages received in advance of one's stay - but they tell you at check-in - a sort of mutually embarrassing conversation. And no, the 3rd party restaurant explanation doesn't hold up as you can add breakfast payable to the hotel at booking - so the restaurant and hotel are tied-in. The hotel itself is OK - excellent location, comfortable, though outdated rooms, hallways pretty banged up and sorely in need of attention. It could be impressive, with a little more oomph and enthusiasm, though it seems they've chosen passable.
EDIT: "You appreciate bringing this to our attention?" You knew about it all along as it was described as "hotel policy" at check-in. It may seem not all that big a deal, but when something genuinely valued is advertised, in writing and clearly so, as being included, then it's mysteriously unavailable because of some internally decided "policy," that's a bait and switch. It is true, had you told me in advance that this benefit would be excluded, I would have cancelled - but at least we would have been on the same page.

There is not much to this hotel, if looking to just sleep somewhere, this is it. If you are looking for the French Quoters vibe this is not it, keep looking and there is plenty. Before committing be sure to read about all the additional charges, there is plenty, the hotel is not all that quick to disclose them up front and will add up quickly. Even as seasoned travelers we missed the weekend rate enormous up charge, we went from 120 per week night to over 600 for Friday night, ouch it is. Rooms are just ok, Holiday Inn Express has better. We have been to NOLA several times, so the story telling ghost walking tour is a waste of money so is the cemetery tour. Air boat tours will just take you far enough so you wont see the departing dock, around in circles you will go and try to make you feel like you are on Amazon exploring, nope, had my gps so i know. The Jazz cruise was a joke, flea market decor, few min of Jazz and sub par food. If you are thinking to impress with a romantic dinner cruise it's not even close, don't over dresse or you will feel out of place. You really see nothing, you can do just as good on shore for free. So, enjoy the free street vibe and the free music. City park is free and a great place to visit. If you are looking for good food, find dives on side street and bit away from the tourists traps, you will find better food and much cheaper. Enjoy your stay and look up Bienville House, great vibe there. Waiting on AI reply.
