Im a non-smoker. The smoking section is right at the pool. The pool is outdoors but completely surrounded by the hotel so there is not much moving air. Last thing I want is for my kids and myself to have to deal with second hand smoke because of people smoking essentially indoors. I will NOT be returning ever.

This is our first night here and this is ridiculous. The disgusting smell of urine is all over the room and the walkways outside. The shower head is broken we can’t shower and there are fleas in the shower. This is absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!

This place screams budget motel/hotel. I was greeted by a hotel cat walking across the front desk upon check-in. Shocking to me but I guess normal to the staff. Although they attempt to keep the hotel fresh with some form of air freshener there was a faint smell I couldn’t exactly put my finger on. I believe there may be a need to maintenance the central air units as that smell was not only in the lobby but the room as well. The room was basic to say the least and the best thing I can say about the complimentary breakfast was that it was free. The property was having plumbing issues as the sink in my room backed up flooding the floor at about 4 am on my second nights stay. I woke up to the sound of a waterfall which was actually the sink overflowing with dirty water that had hair and gunk in it. I immediately called the front desk for service and promptly got dressed to await the arrival of help which never came. I called back and the person answering the phone stated that they didn’t get a response back from security so there was nothing she could do which was semi true with the exception of communicating that fact with me so that I was not sitting up dressed waiting for help
that wasn’t going to arrive. She pretty much told me I could go to sleep and that maintenance would be there around 8 AM. Maintenance did come and he worked in my room and the room adjacent to me to resolve the issue. All of my toiletries had to be thrown away due to sitting in contaminated water. I stopped by the front desk letting the general manager know that I would be going to replace items as I had to throw them out and asked about compensation. She stated that I could bring back the receipt and she was willing to reimburse me fair compensation. I went to the local Walgreens and returned with my items and receipt. The items came to approximately $60 of which she stated she would only compensate me up to $40 because she couldn’t verify what I had or what condition those items were in. WHAT???!!! You don’t need to verify what items I had when my items were damaged/contaminated due to
maintenance issues on your property. It was an insult to my integrity. Despite her stating she apologized for the inconvenience, actions speak louder than words. She stated that if she did compensate me the full amount she would be unable to discount the night that was disrupted. I asked how that would work as I booked the stay with Priceline. She then stated that being that the room was booked with a third party there was nothing she could do to discount the room as I didn’t pay through them and she would only compensate me the full amount if I agreed not to contact Priceline. Again… What???!!! What right do you have to tell me I can’t contact the business I booked the trip with as a stipulation of providing me a refund that I was due? After being at a standstill because she refused to come off her hill she gave me the number to guest relations. After hearing the story even customer relations asked if she could just compensate me the total based on the receipt but she refused and due to it being a privately owned property they stated they could not overrule the decision of the property. Customer relations seemed sympathetic to my situation and offered me points to my rewards account which will more than likely go unused as I will probably never stay at a Best Western again based off of this experience. It’s just sad that she had the ability to make the situation right but, decided to make it more unpleasant than it already was. A Poor mindset, leadership skills and customer service is keeping that place where it is. I don’t understand how it got the ratings it had although varied across platforms. At the end of a frustrating situation I was only able to get the $40 that she originally stated and when I mentioned that I would be taking the situation higher and writing a review she seemed completely unbothered. Lesson learned… you get what you pay for. Search for a deal but don’t settle. Saving a few $’s is not worth your peace, time or inconvenience.

The rooms are decent and clean but the couch is stained and very worn out. There is a microwave and fridge in the room so that's nice. They look like they are very old but have been updated. The hot tub is sadly only around 70 degrees if that. All of the rooms overlook the pool abd courtyard which is nice and there are nice places to sit and soak up some NOLA sunshine. The location is close to the joint reserve base and only about a 10 min drive to downtown New Orleans if you dont want to stay in downtown. The bartender is really nice and makes a yummy Blue Hawaiin drink!
