We have been coming through Baton Rouge on our way to the beach for years and will continue to stay at this hotel. Everything about it is wonderful - love the management and the servers. Anita always takes great care of us in the mornings at breakfast and is so kind! It’s a clean hotel, rooms are clean and comfy beds - our girls love the pool. We don’t normally use the workout room but it is one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel and always clean and well kept! We also love that the hotel is in walking distance of one of our favorite places to eat in Baton Rouge, Tio Javis. We will continue to come back! Love this Holiday Inn.

When I booked this hotel, I booked with the impression that it was a luxury hotel and the buffet was worth paying $15 for it. When I arrived there was a cat that had a cat house and food. The hotel room wasn’t anything like it was on the website. The website should advertise exactly what the hotel looks like and how the the food actual look. The Buffett is $15 but they didn’t have many options. They didn’t have grits , the hash browns was super hard like bacon, you have to pay extra for waffles when you have already paid for the Buffett that isn’t really a Buffett. It was horrible. The cat being at the front door was horrible!
I brought my team here for camp and expected to give them a luxury experience as it was advertised online.

As a loyal IHG member for more than 10 years, I was very disappointed with my recent stay at Holiday Inn Baton Rouge.
When I arrived, I was informed that the air conditioning was not working on the top floor, which meant I could not receive the suite I had reserved. Instead, my reservation was downgraded to a standard room, and I ultimately had to rent an additional room to accommodate my group.
Upon arrival, there was also a black cat living at the front entrance of the hotel. The cat had a shelter and food set up outside, making it appear to be the hotel’s mascot. While some guests may not mind this, several of the girls traveling with me were uncomfortable and frightened by it.
I do want to recognize Brittany at the front desk. She was extremely kind, understanding, and did her best to help resolve the room situation. She even provided breakfast vouchers as a gesture of goodwill. Valerie, who was working the next day, was also very accommodating and professional. She personally walked me to the breakfast area and apologized for the experience.
Unfortunately, breakfast was another major disappointment. The hotel advertises a breakfast buffet, but what was offered was closer to a basic continental breakfast for $15 per person. The eggs were runny, the hash browns were overcooked and hard, there were no grits available, only oatmeal, and the sausage did not appear to be fully cooked. As a result, no one in our group ate the breakfast.
Additionally, the floor where we were relocated appeared to be under renovation. The room and bathroom doors did not close properly, which further diminished the quality of our stay.
I visit Baton Rouge annually for LSU Basketball Camp and stayed next door at Embassy Suites last year. Based on the online reviews and photos, I chose Holiday Inn this year because it appeared to offer an elevated experience for our girls. Unfortunately, it did not meet those expectations.
While I appreciate the excellent customer service provided by Brittany and Valerie, and the Professor the room issues, disappointing breakfast, renovation concerns, and overall lack of the advertised experience made this stay far below what I have come to expect from IHG.

Absolutely fantastic experience from the friendly front desk staff (Brittany, Franklin, and Valerie) to the bartender (Chay) who made one of the best Old Fashioned I've ever had, to the server (Jenny) in the restaurant, we could not be more pleased. Additionally, the room was beautiful, super clean, and spacious, and the workout room was state of the art. This hotel will be our go to from now on when we need a place to stay in Baton Rouge.

They are remodeling, but there are a few stains on the carpet in our room. We booked a king suite and it is very spacious. The bathroom was great (a little excessive with two sinks) lots of hot water and good water pressure. The shower was nice after a hard days work. We had a mini fridge and microwave, a chair, couch and a little table with four chairs.
The exercise room is amazing and the pool looks very clean.
There is a restaurant/bar attached to the hotel (we did not go in there, so cannot comment on that).
They do have a large parking lot. We got there at about 6 in the evening in a large straight tanker truck. The lot was not full, but an actual semi truck may have difficulties parking. They say they have truck parking, just beware.
It is a regular Holiday Inn so breakfast is extra. I can guarantee it's the same thing the Holiday Inn Express gives for free. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing it's cheese omelettes, bacon (on some days) or weird scrambled eggs with sausage and they will have biscuits and gravy. They probably have yogurt and cereal and juice that comes from a dispenser as well. I travel a lot and don't eat hotel breakfast.
The one thing that bothers me about this hotel is the lack of benches outside. There is literally no place to sit outside unless you want to hang out on the retaining walls.
