I stayed at this hotel for three nights last week and had a very pleasant stay. The only thing off was the carpet really needs to be shampooed, and there was an odd smell on the fourth floor. But it was comfortable and super quiet all night, which is very important to me. I really want to highlight special service though. Staff was superb from check-in to bar. The first night, I went to the bar for a nightcap before going to bed, and Rochelle took my drink order (which is not a common one). Great drink. The next night I went to eat and have a few drinks, and Rochelle was again working and remembered my exact drink including the garnishments. She really is a jewel with her personality, the way she interacts with guests and great drinks. Thank you for a lovely experience.

We got in to town after traveling for 7 hours with our family, got to the room and our kids and I could not even breathe due to the Toxic Chemical smell in the rooms. We tried to even stay for a few minutes, but I had an asthma attack from the smell. We went down to the desk and had to ask to be moved . They moved us to another floor , bathrooms are filthy. This is by far the worst stay at a Hotel I have ever had!! They gave us Breakfast vouchers for our inconvenience! I would have went on to a different Hotel had it been earlier! We should have never been charged for such a Toxic Environment and filthy rooms! We got our bill this morning and it was $600.00 for 3 rooms that my Grandchildren and myself could not even sleep due to the circumstances! We got up early and left due to all the stress!! Do better and do not expect Adults and children to stay where there are these kind of issues!! Remodel and fix your Hotel or get rid of it all together for the safety of your guests!! Sorry for all the horrible review, but I would never RECOMMEND this Hotel to anyone!!! So disappointed ☹️

Sep 2026 Holiday Inn Alexandria - Downtown by IHG Sep 11, 2026 - Sep 13, 2026 Amazing experience how amazing customer servers the bed was awesome! Unfortunately we noticed system which holds the shampoo and conditioner etc was loose also. unfortunately, at 2 o'clock in the morning or 3am , we were trying to contact the front desk to figure out what to do or would have we needed vacate the hotel , or was it a false alarm because we heard the fire alarm blaring, which we didn't have a phone number to contact the front desk. I tried calling the online number which got me to an out of town. Neither on our card or in the room was it posted. The iron may need to be replaced because it burned my wife white pants, which is ok we'll get another pair. Only one elevator is ridiculous. More T.v channels or the option to use Netflix or a service would work. We definitely enjoyed the visit.

Beware of this property!!!! Security of the hotel is nonexistent!!! I recently stayed at this hotel 9/11/26 and at 4:00am. I awoke to a strange man standing in my room inside the doorway. I heard the door open in my sleep a short brown skinned man about 5’6” to 5’8” was sneaking in through my doorway. When I confronted him I noticed that it appeared to be other guests belongings in his hand. I asked him what are you doing in my room….. I repeated “what are you doing in my room. The man replied that he didn’t want any trouble and ran out of my room. I immediately call the front desk and explained to the staff what took place… I was meet with a sickening nonchalant attitude by the staff and the owner!!! The owner even tried to tell me that it was no way possible this could have took place. I asked him to review their cameras. He refused. Then he proceeded to go back and forth with me about someone violating my privacy at his establishment. He even asked me to leave. I subsequently checked out of the hotel with not even an apology!!! No compensation for what took place or even or even a sense of urgency to rectify the situation for a crime being committed in their hotel. So please Please Beware of staying overnight at this property. You’ll never know who you might wake up to!!!

The customer service was great! Especially Brandy and Steven who I dealt with. However, the rooms are not worth booking here. Smelly carpet!!! I switched rooms in the middle of the night because it was so awful and I couldn't sleep. The second room was tolerable but you could smell musty. I was so tired and didnt know where else to go in a small town so stayed. But, I couldn't wait to leave the next morning!!! The customer service does not match the rooms! I can deal with outdated rooms, but at least be clean. The property should invest in throwing out the carpet and the reviews will turn around. Its Holiday Inn you would expect better. But this most be a franchise and they dont care and just want your money. I recommend no one come here until they update their rooms.
