  I can’t recommend this hotel. It’s definitely no frills, but not in a way that I wouldn’t expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The free breakfast spread was solid, gym was basic but okay for a cardio workout, and overall the facility looked clean for an aged building. Not much to do around the hotel but that’s just the area. The front desk staff we interacted with during our stay were pretty impersonal, but whatever. The pool was cloudy (I wouldn’t personally get in, but know that it was probably due to heavy chlorine levels). The real problem was the mold. Upon entering our room we were overwhelmed by a damp mildewy smell. Turns out inside the AC unit was covered in moldy dust. I went to the front desk to inquire about a room switch and had barely finished my sentence before the worker said they were fully booked, but she would “spray it with something.” The reaction very much seemed that this was not a new issue guests have brought up. She followed us to our room and sprayed down the AC unit with a can of Lysol spray. Lysol spray. Just on the outside grate, not even on the inside where the mold was clearly visible. She said “should be good now” and left. We didn’t push the issue further and tried to clean the inside a bit ourselves. I felt uncomfortable spending multiple nights potentially inhaling mold, and all of my belongings came home smelling like mildew. I understand it’s been hot and humid, but I don’t feel that’s an excuse here. Mold issues should be taken very seriously. They need to deep clean or replace the units in the rooms. If I am ever back in the area I will 100% avoid this hotel.

  The service and staff were amazing. I would definitely reserve this location again in the future.

  Had to wait forty-five minutes to see a desk person and then once I got to my room and ready for a shower the fire alarm went off causing everyone to evacuate

  Upon entering the hotel, the smell of stagnant water infiltrated our nostrils. Once we checked in, we were assigned an accessible room with a handicap bathroom, even though we did not want an acessible room. We were told that the hotel was fully booked and a change in rooms was not possible at the moment. Staying in the accessible room, where there was a very strong smell coming from the drain and a handicap bathroom was traumatic. Thankfully, our room was changed upon our request the next day. That room was clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was cloudy, so I wouldn't recommend you swim there. During my whole stay, the hot tub was out of service. The hotel also includes free standard breakfast, free parking and free fitness. There is no laundry in the hotel, so the front desk instructed us to go the the Hampton Inn across the street for our laundry. The hotel is located right next to I-71/I-75, so the freeway obviously could be heard.
