  I stayed here, because, other than Hotel Thoroughbred, it seems to be the only game in town. There were some positive points. The staff members were very nice. I have no complaints there. The breakfast was fine. They had a good selection; I was just in a hurry and grabbed something on the "go." I liked that coffee seemed to be available whenever a guest wanted it. There were some things I didn't like, though. First of all, this facility is very outdated. It still has carpet, and it looks like it came out of the 1970's or 1980's (or maybe earlier). The old look makes one initially think that it might not be clean. Upon inspection, I noted that the bathroom, bed, etc. appeared clean. What was not clean was a chair that was in the room. It looked like someone had sat on it in dirty pants and gotten dirt on it that just could not be removed. The dirt actually appeared to be ground into the chair. I've seen some old motels like this in my travels that have been updated to be really nice. That's what the owners of this property need to do. They need to throw out that chair. I'd rather have no chair than to have the dirty chair. They need to pull up the carpet and replace it with linoleum. Furthermore, in this OLD motel, there was a bathtub that looked like it had "jets." A bathtub jacuzzi is a luxury that would have been very out of place in this room, but I tried them to see if they worked. They did not. That tub needs to be replaced with a shower. Also, I'm not really sure how safe this part of town is, because I checked in after dark, and there was a guy behind a glass who took my credit card and gave me my key for the night. The next morning, the main lobby was open, but, at night, it was locked down pretty tight, and that made me as a guest feel nervous about the area. The price on the hotel room was much more than it should have been. This hotel room should have been maybe $50-$60 per night. I suppose that, because there were various events going on in Paris and nearby areas, hotel prices had been elevated. I think this in itself is wrong, but I realize that a lot of hotel owners do this. That's between them and God. It appears, though, that, even on a regular night, prices would have been much more than the $50-$60 that I suggested in my above statement. I think this hotel has potential to become a quaint, affordable spot that would match the beauty of the town in which it is located. Until it reaches that potential, however, I have not intention of returning. I'm not sure how it has managed to get a ranking of 4.1, except for the facts that there are a few positives about it (as mentioned above). Those positives did not make up for that dirty chair in the room.

  The room is clean, but they had left the ac off and it felt and smelled like a sweatshop when I first entered. There's nothing in the room to tell me the area interests, where the ice machine is, what the TV channels are....

  Comfortable bed. Great location for our family plans. Large fridge a big plus. Helpful staff.

  I checked in last Friday night to this hotel and walked into what can only be described as a cloud of smoke. After talking to the front desk it sounded like there was a mix up with our booking but they assured me they could get us into a non-smoking room. The non smoking room they gave us as it turns out was actually just a previous smoking room that they had swapped a coat of paint on. Which did not matter because the chair in the corner had a cigarette burn and the smoke detector was hanging off the ceiling, and the headboard was disgustingly dirty. I won't forget to mention the toilet barely being screwed into the floor, I could have picked it up and took it with me it was so loose. They were completely sold out otherwise so we were unable to be moved to a different room though I'm not sure it would have been better. We made the most getting through the first night but after going to breakfast and seeing expired yogurt in the fridge and another unplugged smoke detector in the hotel lobby we absolutely could not stay another night. Thank goodness we were able to find another room at a different hotel that was much more accommodating. All that said, the rooms and the rest of the hotel look nothing like the pictures you'll find on google. Stay away from this place if possible.
