We booked a weekend stay and it was great and exactly what we needed as a family of 5. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The TV guide had a lot of watching options. The complimentary breakfast was from 6:30AM to 9:30AM and they had a good amount of options. The staff was friendly and efficient. Loved the location as well. We were fairly close to a bunch of cave options including the Mammoth Caves and a bunch of children’s attractions. Will definitely be returning in the future!

The hotel is off of I-65, there are a few gas stations like Speedway and Shell that are within comfortable walking distance as well as a Love's and McDonalds immediately across the overpass. The concierge was welcoming and friendly with my dog George and I. We had driven through the night from Michigan and wanted to book a room, but I only had my temporary paper license. Nonetheless, with verification and kindness they gave me the room my wife had reserved and gave me the option to check in a few hours early and notified me of those charges and the pet fee ahead of time. Everyone else that has been working today has been smiley and wonderful; I was given a couple of water bottles upon request at no charge and enjoyed some of the snacks and microwave meals for purchase. Its a small enough hotel; one sidewalk that runs outside of both corridors of rooms and creeps around the sides to alternative entrances. Conveniently located a few exits from Mammoth Cave National Park.

The staff were friendly but it's too pricey for what you get. The first thing that hit us was the smell. The hotel had an incredibly strong smell all throughout. The hotel looks outdated as well, staining on a lot of the carpets. The room has comfortable beds but doesn't look as if they get cleaned very well. The bathroom floor had obviously not been swept. Toiletries provided are a plus though. There was no coffee maker in my room as pictured. Pool closes at 8pm also and there's no hot tub. Breakfast was good however, and the main reason I booked because I had two children with me. Overall it was okay but the prices need to be lowered for what you get. I would look at staying somewhere else next time.

Good location, has been updated, but housekeeping needs some serious help and oversight. Dirty elevator doors, lots of stained carpet. One room was old smelling musty and gave me a headache so we moved rooms. Sheets were dirty thankfully we brought our own, carpets need cleaning throughout the hotel, lots of spill stains, owners came in for a late night snack from the kitchen breakfast items, with their kids in the lobby, while the one counter lady was running around moping the hall, getting things and towels, checking people in, etc. They should be taking care of the property instead of using it like their second home and watching the girl struggle. Run it like a business and keep it nice not into the ground or hire a good manager to stay on top of things. Deep clean it, shampoo the carpets, and wash all the bedding. Oh and our king bed had this plastic cover on the mattress that made it so hot and uncomfortable. The previous room had real mattress covers. Beds squeaked every time you moved. AC worked good when we got there and then quit and gave up at bedtime and wouldn’t come on all night. There was no ac in the hallways in August and it was hot. Most holiday inn expresses are cleaner. Would not stay here again due to lack of cleanliness and owners lack of diligence. I should’ve taken pictures.

The great HIE at Horse Cave its awesome. With a gas station literally in its front lawn (still under construction at the time of this writing). A seemingly quiet town we went on a weekend and there were literally NO cars on the roads. Definitely a MUST for Cave tours as it's about 45 minutes from the caves in Bowling Green. The hotel itself is standard its a little country but the folks there are super nice. The pool closes early at 8 so hope your not out late like we were. Breakfast was super casual mostly what you expect from a HIE included breakfast although a little on the not a ton of options side. The coffee was a different story as every cup is now brewing to order so be prepared to stand in line. They do have keurigs upon request however I didnt know that until after the first morning. All told the family was happy so I was fine with it.
