  Absolutely appalling experience — I would not stay here again. Despite the hotel appearing reasonably clean at first glance, our experience was genuinely disgusting and extremely distressing. I woke up during the night to find a dark brown/black crawling insect right next to my pillow. I screamed, and my boyfriend immediately caught it with a tissue and disposed of it. What made this even more disturbing was that I had been feeling itchy throughout the night, but until that moment I hadn’t thought much of it. Shortly afterwards, I went to use the bathroom. Just as I was about to sit down, I noticed another insect crawling across the toilet seat. At that point, I was completely appalled. Finding one crawling insect beside your pillow is bad enough; finding another in the bathroom immediately afterwards made the situation completely unacceptable. We raised the issue with the hotel, and when the bedding was stripped back, what we saw underneath was revolting. The mattress had numerous unpleasant yellow stains, along with small brown specks. I cannot say with certainty what caused those marks or identify the insects we encountered, but given what we had already found crawling in the room, the condition of the mattress was deeply concerning. My advice to anyone staying here would be: do not be reassured simply because the room looks clean on the surface. Check underneath the bedspread, sheets and mattress covering before you unpack. The hotel offered to refund the second night, which we were supposed to stay, but that hardly compensates for the disruption and stress this caused. We then had to quarantine our belongings and thoroughly disinfect our clothes because we were terrified of potentially bringing insects home with us. What should have been a comfortable hotel stay instead became a complete waste of our time and money. Cleanliness in a hotel is not merely about whether a room looks presentable when you walk through the door. Guests should be able to sleep without waking up to insects beside their pillow, use the bathroom without finding something crawling on the toilet seat, and trust that the mattress beneath them is being properly inspected and maintained. A deeply unpleasant and unacceptable experience. I would not recommend this hotel based on our stay.

  We checked in around 7 pm CST, and the lady at the check-in was the sweetest person. She happily accommodated our request for a non-pool-adjacent room when we asked. Later, she also helped us with a technical difficulty in the room. Our rooms were squeaky clean and spaced out, giving us ample privacy. The premise offered a water station and included breakfast with an elaborate menu. My favorite remained the veggie egg omelet and potato bites. The premise also had a 24/7 coffee and tea station. The staff preparing the breakfast were also the sweetest people. On the other hand, I never saw the lady smile once during the daytime! Apart from that, I would highly recommend this location, as it is a comfortable 30-minute drive to Mammoth Caves.

  Service was impeccable! Lobby sparkling, organized and smelled good. Room itself was very pristine. Best Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at.
