Crowne Plaza Bowling Green, KY — A Nice Stay With a Few Loose Ends My lovely Wife and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bowling Green, Kentucky, by IHG. We checked in very late Friday night, September 4, and checked out at noon Sunday, September 6. Right from the beginning, they were very accommodating. They had saved our room despite our late arrival and even allowed us a late checkout. The hotel is easy to find and conveniently located near the interstate. There is also more than enough free parking, although there is no valet service. The hotel has recently undergone renovations, and overall, everything looked nice and fresh. The public areas were attractive, and our room was nice as well. That said, there are still a few loose ends that need attention. There were some odd smells on the fourth floor. Although our room had been cleaned, it seemed like housekeeping may have been in a bit of a hurry. The mirror was dirty, we needed more toilet paper, and they seemed to be very stingy with towels and washcloths. Speaking of toilet paper, the kind provided had no perforations, making it surprisingly difficult to tear off the proper amount without using both hands! 😂 The shower had low water pressure, and there was no hot water coming from the sink. None of these things were terrible by themselves, but they were the kinds of little details that can make the difference between a good hotel stay and a great one. We also tried the hotel’s breakfast buffet. It was somewhat basic, but since we were traveling with a group, we had coupons for $9 off per adult. Even with the discount, it came to just over $23 for two people, before tip. At that discounted price, I would say it was worth it. At the regular price, however, I don’t think it was worth paying considerably more. Fortunately, there are plenty of other dining options nearby. One thing that really concerned me happened during our stay: the fire alarm went off and the hotel was evacuated. The strange part was that we barely heard the alarm in our room. The alarm in our room never sounded, and the one coming from the atrium could barely be heard inside our room. That really made me wonder: What if we had been asleep during a real fire? That’s something I certainly hope hotel management takes seriously. Despite these shortcomings, we would absolutely stay here again. I have a feeling that may have a lot to do with the hotel’s new management. The renovations have given the property a nice foundation, and as they get their operations running smoothly, I’m confident they can correct these relatively minor issues. Overall, it was a nice stay with a few things that need attention. The location is convenient, parking is plentiful, the property has been renovated, and most importantly, the staff was accommodating. Give them a little time and attention to detail, and I think this hotel could become a very good place to stay in Bowling Green.

This is the fifth year on a row that I have stayed here. The hotel was switching names etc. for the better. They never missed a beat. Kudos to the staff!

Room was great. The hotel is beautiful and has a spacious lobby area and bar. The bartenders were fabulous, the breakfast staff and food was a different story. There were 3 people working and tables were not bussed, waited 15 min for silverware after asking twice. Waited 15 more minutes for coffee and never got water or other drinks. The food was not hot even on the buffet style line it was barely warm. The man was rude and couldn't be bothered to assist anyone who asked for items that should have been readily available. Very poorly managed breakfast buffet and kitchen. The staff at the desk were very nice.

This hotel could be great, but there is virtually no housekeeping. First day, emptied garbage replaced towels. 2nd day, replaced towels 3rd day had to beg 3 times to get clean towels. There is no bed making, cleaning etc. When I pay $900 for 3 nights I do expect some housekeeping. Too bad because everything else is great.

The place was good in general. I give it 4 star for two reasons 1 the rooms don’t have microwave that even the cheapest hotel have 2 the breakfast is $17 and is not that good regarding to options and the way they do it because you take things from a Buffett that doesn’t have many things then you sit on a table an someone serve you with a drink but you can’t do it your self. I was there for a week and all the days were exactly the same few options I’ve been on others hotels form the same chain and it was much better in this
