Overall, my stay had both some positive aspects and some areas that I feel could be improved.
The room itself was very spacious and worked well for the time there. It included a separate bedroom, a closet, a pullout sofa, and a kitchen area with dishes, which was very convenient during our stay. I also appreciated the complimentary breakfast offered every morning from 6–9 AM. Having breakfast available each morning was a nice convenience, especially while traveling.
I was also very glad that the hotel is pet-friendly. Traveling with a pet can be difficult, so I really appreciated that the hotel allowed them and was understanding of families who are traveling with their animals. There is a weekly fee though for having a pet which I was understanding of but it is important to remember when planning.
Unfortunately, there were some cleanliness issues that were disappointing. When I went to use one of the folded towels in the bathroom, I found clumps of someone else’s hair inside the folded towel. This was very unpleasant and made me question whether the other towels had been properly cleaned and sanitized as well. The bathtub also had visible dirt in it, and I ended up cleaning it myself as best as I could before we felt comfortable using the tub/shower.
Accessibility was another area that I feel needs some attention. When entering the building where our room was located, only one of the handicap-accessible door buttons was working. This was challenging for one of my family members who uses a wheelchair. I really hope the hotel can make sure that accessibility features such as automatic door openers are consistently functioning, because these details can make a significant difference for guests with disabilities and their families.
During one day of our stay, the building also lost water for a few hours. This was frustrating because we were unable to flush the toilet or use the sinks, shower, or other water-dependent functions in the room. I was thankful that the outage only lasted a few hours and wasn’t longer, but it was still a significant inconvenience while staying at a hotel.
The water for the shower and bath also took quite a while to become hot. It eventually did get hot, but the amount of time we had to wait was inconvenient.
As far as the staff, my experience was mixed. When I called before our arrival for assistance with booking the reservation, the woman I spoke with was not particularly friendly or welcoming. However, the woman who checked us in upon arrival was helpful, so I did have a much better experience with the front desk once I arrived.
Overall, I appreciated the spacious room, kitchen area, complimentary breakfast, and especially the pet-friendly policy. However, I believe the hotel would benefit from more consistent attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and accessibility. The issues with the towel, bathtub, water outage, and malfunctioning accessible door button were noticeable and affected our overall experience.
