Extremely disappointing! The worst Holiday Inn Express we've ever experienced. Small blood stains on one of the bed sheets. Bath tub had paint chips peeling off it floating in it when kids took a bath. Extra TP roll had actual mold on it. Carpet was gross. Tile in entry way and bathroom were dirty and sticky. Great location to Holiday World but be cautious when booking, maybe don't go here, we understand that they are going through construction and staff is doing their best. When we tried to remedy the issue staff was not at front desk and cleaning crew serviced the room but did not change sheets or take care of floor. We love HI Express but this stay was tricky for us.

The rooms were very basic. Odd smell throughout hotel. It was pretty clean. Staff were pleasant. We booked 2 rooms, one of the showers did not work. Great distance from holiday world.

Stains all over carpet everywhere, crumbs everywhere needs vacuumed, there's alot of wear on everything, holes in the ceiling above window from old window frame, musty smelling, crack across bathroom countertop, drain in bathtub wad clogged. Not worth paying over 230 a night.

I'm writing this review to help other travelers decide if this is the right place to stay. I encountered several issues with the room throughout my stay.
1. The hair dryer provided in the room has a broken, exposed piece that will suck your hair into it if it touches it. I almost got my hair sucked into it and would have come home from my trip with a bald patch on my head. The hair dryer in that room is not safe for use for anyone with hair of any length.
2. Despite the drain being open as it should, about 3-4 inches of standing water started pooling at my feet after a mere 2 minutes in the shower.
3. Room was either freezing, inhabitably cold (to the point where I had to wear two different hoodies and two layers of pants just to be able to function without shivering), or humid and hot. There was no in between.
4. Bathroom door WOULD NOT SHUT without three times the force it normally takes to shut a regular door. Many times it just bounces back on you. Extremely inconvenient.
5. Virtually no service workers/employees to be seen except around checkout time. No one at the breakfast buffet, no one at the desk, ever.
4. Dead bugs all over the floor when you immediately enter from coming back inside from outdoor the smoking section. I stayed at this same property two years in a row and noticed the same thing on my last visit.
5. Bad smell in the elevator.
6. Pool was literally green, filmy and seemingly uncleaned for a very long time. Was excited to utilize the one amenity the hotel has to offer besides breakfast, but very disappointed to see the state of the pool. Also, the "arcade room" looked like it had not been touched in...years? Completely empty machines that now look unclean because they're so empty you can see the dirty bottoms? Buttons that seemingly haven't been wiped/disinfected for a while. Would avoid bringing children to play in here, I don't even know if the candy in the machines would be expired at this point or not.
Overall I wouldn't stay at this hotel if the hotel experience is important to you.

Horrible place, window leaked in room, bathroom filthy, bed not right, moldy trash under chair in room, no coffee pot, no coffee, no towels, had to go get, toilet disgustingly descrasefull, I had to clean twice before I would allow to use. Just a disaster for ALOT OF MONEY WE PAID FOR, 2NIGHTS..never again, and we WERE strictly HIE customers..
