Avoid this hotel. My experience over nearly two weeks at this property was unacceptable from beginning to end.
I stayed here every day for nearly two weeks as an IHG member. During my first stay, I was assigned a room where the shower leaked so badly that it flooded the bathroom floor. The bathroom also smelled like a burst sewer or plumbing pipe. I assumed it was simply an isolated bad room, so I gave the hotel another chance and booked a second stay.
That was a mistake.
The second room was dirty before I had even unpacked. There was hair lodged in the shower drain, hair underneath the bathroom amenity tray, and visible hair throughout the bathroom. The bathroom floor was dirty, and the bed linens appeared unchanged. This was the condition of the room when it was given to me.
Housekeeping was consistently unacceptable. Every morning before leaving around 7:30 a.m., I placed the housekeeping sign on my door requesting service. I routinely returned around 5:00 p.m. only to find the room either untouched or cleaned so poorly that it was difficult to tell anyone had entered. During my first stay, housekeeping also refused to refill a body wash dispenser that was nearly empty after I requested it. These are basic services that guests paying premium rates should not have to fight to receive.
The room itself also presented a security concern. The entry door would not latch properly unless it was forcefully slammed. If it was closed normally, it often remained unlocked. Guests should never have to question whether their room is actually secured.
During my second week, another problem emerged: excessive noise. There was repeated loud banging outside my room for extended periods late at night and again early in the morning, making it difficult to sleep. Despite raising the issue, nothing was done to correct it, and the disturbance continued.
I have also discovered that personal items are missing from my room. I am reporting that matter to the appropriate authorities and will allow the investigation to determine what occurred.
One bad room can be dismissed as an accident. Two separate stays involving different rooms, repeated housekeeping failures, an improperly functioning door, persistent noise disturbances, and now missing personal property demonstrate a pattern that should concern any guest.
Despite staying at this property continuously for nearly two weeks and spending a substantial amount of money, my concerns were repeatedly disregarded. I am also disabled, and I did not feel that my concerns received meaningful attention.
The only employees who consistently treated guests professionally were the door staff. They greeted guests with courtesy every day and deserve recognition. My issue is not with them—it is with the property’s management and operations.
IHG corporate customer service has been courteous and professional. The problems lie with this hotel.
I have already filed a formal complaint with IHG. If this matter is not resolved, I intend to dispute the charges with American Express based on the condition of the accommodations and the services I received.
The location is excellent, but a good location cannot compensate for rooms that are not properly cleaned, security concerns, repeated noise disturbances, ignored guest complaints, and missing personal property. I gave this property a second chance because I believed the first experience was an isolated incident. It proved otherwise.
At this price point, there are far better hotels in downtown Indianapolis. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
