We pulled off the 80 with a reservation made , 5 minutes before, due to some CRAZY weather (tornado watch, lightning, WIND, and rain). My husband stayed in the car when I ran inside to get us checked and unload as fast as possible. We were not able to due to the power out at the hotel, from the storm coming in, and Erin welcomed us in and told us to “stay as long as we need”. My husband and I both came inside to a safe place during a crazy storm and they allowed us to leave our car right where it was, parked under the check-in awning . I was personally very scared at this moment, never encountered anything like this in my life. The staff and other hotel guests were VERY comforting, informative and plan oriented,like I’m so thankful for every one of them ! The aftermath of the storm was just as appreciated . We had nowhere to stay after the storm, due to it being after midnight at this point and unknown conditions of the road, so we did ask if there was a room available with our reservation, on the app it said it was the last room and we were not the only ones to stop. With the systems being down, unfortunately their hands were tied, not knowing who had hotel reservations and hadn’t showed up yet and/or the rooms available/given away for the night. The staff were able to get ahold of their manager and get it figured out and us into a room to get some sleep. The entirety of the situation, THANK YOU ERIN AND TAYLOR FOR MAKING THIS TERRIFYING AND CHOATIC SITUATION OKAY ! When, at the moment, I didn’t know if it was going to be .
