A decent hotel and nice facilities.
The room was spacious and clean.
The BF was in OK.
The room was facing a small lake and sunset view.

*Misleading, false BW Ad: a sad my Birthday's experience with BW.
*I'm writing a complaint regarding my recent stay at Best Western Indian Oak from May 2–6 and the subsequent handling of my $50 gift card reward claim.
I joined the rewards program specifically for the promotional campaign that began on March 24, 2026. Despite completing a four-night (4!) stay and paying the hotel directly, my claim was denied because I booked through a third party. BW advertising does not clearly state that bookings must be made directly to qualify, which is completely misleading as a false Ad.
Furthermore, I have encountered significant issues with my membership profile. My hyphenated last name was entered incorrectly in BW system [the system didn't alowed to type all name], preventing my payment from linking to my account. When Manager Amanda at Indian Oak requested a correction, Ms. Tessa from headquarters sent a "name change" form requiring legal documents like a marriage certificate or divorce decree. [WHAT?] This is an unreasonable requirement for a simple typographical correction and has effectively blocked me from receiving the credit I earned!
Beyond these administrative issues, the condition of the hotel was unacceptable:
- Garbage remained nearby the Eastern entrance door, outside of the hotel, for the duration of my four-day stay. Raccoons roam the outdoor trash cans near the entrance, but the staff doesn't care.
- The pool and sauna were in poor condition. The pool water was cloudy and dirty, causing a skin reaction after one use. The sauna failed to maintain heat.
- Basic amenities were missing; the body wash container was empty until the third day of my stay.
_ An iron surface was completely burned- impossible to use. An ironing board is without any padding - pure metal: cannot be used either.
I wrote the complaint to BW customer service on FB Best Western page concerning my stay with the pictures, and didn't get any reaction from Administrators at all.
*The Room and, especially, the bathroom were OK, after renovation. But after what I experienced during my Birthday stay at the hotel, I can't give it more than 3 stars.
*The $50 gift reward BW campaign is just a fiction - the false Advertising.

This hotel has a really great view of the lake and is central to a lot town-- some great places to eat and visit are all within a 10-20 minute drive. Our lakeside room was well worth the extra money and was very clean. We could see geese and goslings, as well as ducks and a swan. The small patio was nice; some had chairs but ours did not. I wish there were benches closer to the lake so you could go out and see the sunset/sunrise.
It had a fireplace and couch; I wish the TV was in front of the couch since the bed was not comfortable, but it worked. The beds are very hard-- I ended up having some sciatic pain because of this. There is also a strip of cushioning on the headboard that is at an awkward height, so it's hard to sit up unless your back is completely against the wall.
The bathroom was also quite small. Due to staffing, they didn't clean the rooms every day unless requested, which is both something I like for environmental purposes and don't really like because fresh towels would be nice to have each day. There was also an issue with the bathroom light automatically turning on as you walked in, but if you didn't press the button it could turn off while you were in the shower since it couldn't detect your movement.
I did not like that all of the lighting was the "day" light color, so it made the room feel very cold and clinical.
We were not in a specifically accessible room, but the bottles of lotion, handwash, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that were installed were very high (over 5') so be warned if you have smaller kids or issues with reaching.
Absolutely love this hotel. The are currently remodeling and we got a freshly remodeled room. Our room faced the parking lot/marsh area of the lake. Lots of birds to drink coffee with in the morning. Really close to Dominos and other food places. Very clean and new fixtures in the bathroom. Service was really nice and helpful. Only down sides are the train and highway noise but the rooms ac drowns it out and also the goose poop is everywhere outside lol.
The hotel is nice and my room was clean. My only issue was they need to put a little more effort into the breakfast. The only thing they had that was hot was sausage and scrambled eggs. No bacon or biscuits/gravy or hash browns like other Best Westerns
