    Do NOT book a block of rooms at this hotel for your wedding! We booked a block here for our wedding a few weeks ago, and almost all of our guests (40 rooms) had a negative experience. Many of our guests were unable to check in even after the 3pm stated check-in time because rooms were not ready. The staff was rude, and they lost (or handed out to rooms outside our block) wedding goody bags that we had put together and dropped off the day before to be handed out to our guests. A few guests recieved a call from the hotel less than 2 hours before check-in stating that their rooms were canceled because they didn't have up to date credit card information in the system. All guests were also locked out of their rooms 30 minutes before check-out time, and had to go to the front desk to get keys reactived. I would absolutely recommend finding a different place to stay.

    I had an experience with the front desk that blew my mind when it happened. The toilet was clogged and they had my girl go down and grab their used plunger to unclog their toilet. They said there was no staff. But they were at the front desk doing nothing and there weee maids in every hallway. Not what I expected form what I thought was a nicer hotel chain. The staff is really a disgrace to the IHG hotel chain. The no contact from the hotel to attempt to rectify the situation is very unprofessional. I stay at hotels 5 out of 7 nights a week for work and have chose to stay at a different hotel chain since this never got resolved by both the hotel management, owners, and IHG staff.

    DO NOT BOOK WEDDING BLOCK HERE! We had our wedding block booked 8 months in advance. 2 hours before the wedding the hotel called the father of the bride to say they were cancelling our room, when we had someone check in for us they were told they needed the license of the father of the bride, even though I had been told by the sales manager 3 days earlier that everything was all set for our check in. Also, most of the rooms were not available for check-in at 3pm (stated check in time and they wanted people to come back after the reception at 11pm and check in), long lines for check in, welcome bags were not handed out and key cards turned off at 10:45am despite an 11am check out. I have left several messages since then for the hotel manager and have not gotten any response even though its been a week. This was the first weekend in June and we were told they had booked too many wedding blocks. I feel bad for anyone else who has booked wedding blocks here this summer. We will be telling our venue not to recommend HIE Yorkville.

    This is the most unprofessional, non courteous Holiday Inn Express & Suites I have ever booked with. We had a room block for a family reunion, booked in Jan/Feb 2026. Family was due to check in 6/12-14. Only on Wednesday of the check-in week did family start receiving calls of cancellations due to no credit card on file, which was absolutely necessary for booking. The hotel staff was rude, the GM wouldn't return a call. They kept up until today's check in. They kept giving excuses of information lost due to system upgrade, insufficient funds, card expired, oh and card not on file after giving it to them 3 times. I went to check on status of the guest and was met with rude and unkind responses. They were not attempting to be accommodating. So much so front office manger David stood up and got in my face, then the GM Ahsan tore the guest paperwork up in my face, while not being willing to listen to steps that had been taken to provide them with accurate information for the 4th time. I requested they cancel 1 of the 2 rooms I booked, instead David cancelled both rooms on purpose and GM Ahsan told him to tell me he didn't want me in his hotel. Again, unprofessional and plain rude. They overbooked and were looking for any excuse to cancel rooms. Also, they said they couldn't let our party check in early, but upon arriving there prior to 3PM several guest were checking in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has an important event with out of town guest.

    I wasn't able to get a room at this hotel but that's not what the one star is for. My kids and I arrived from out of town - drove 14 hrs from NC and unexpectedly needed a hotel last minute. I just wanted to see if they had any rooms available. There was a long line of ppl waiting to check in and we waited patiently and when it was finally my turn I just asked if they had availability for the night, I was given an eye roll by the man at the front desk and told no in a very condescending tone. I was going to ask if he knew of any other hotels in the area but he had already dismissed me and moved on. I don't know if hotels no longer put up any signs that they have no vacancy now that everything is online but it would have been helpful and saved anyone else that may have been waiting in line to just check that. We were unable to check online has my phone had died.
