  We checked in mid evening around 7pm-ish and I asked if room was cleaned due to being informed they had staffing issues. The front desk staff said yes, it was cleaned but indeed had not been cleaned. There was leftover food on the floors in bedroom and kitchen. Ants all over the walls and table - couldn't eat there and totally grossed out. Dead bug on bathroom sink. Dust and dirt from a vent was left on the floor. Dust on all hard surfaces, which appears it hadn't been cleaned in at least the past few visits. Walls and doors were extremely dirty. One door looks like someone wiped visible snot. Refrigerator wasn't cleaned at all, both inside and out. Toilet stopped up. Visible hair strands in shower. It appeared it never was cleaned either. Furniture so dirty that I couldn't sit on it. Hallways dirty, including carpet and baseboards - the dark colors don't mask the layers of dirt and dust. No hand soap was in any container. I questioned whether the towels and bed linen was cleaned. This place grossed me out. I don't typically have issues with Staybridge hotels. Most are fairly new and managed well. So to management - just stop managing this property and find something that doesn't require an eye for detail. Staff members present look lethargic. Maybe higher paying wages are needed for quality staff. There are clearly many internal issues there.

  OK overall- Mainly it was other people that were staying at the time that dropped the score. Between the screaming kids in the hallway and the neighboring room that had their TV on blast all night, it was a rough one. Service was great though and very affordable for an IHG location

  Big shout out to the entire team at Staybridge Springfield, Illinois. I relocated with my son and drove into town August 1 2026. Little did we know that hotels were booked all over town with the historic female baseball lake in town. Mark Craig the front desk attendance helped us get settled in and and went up the chain to find us a room. If he hadn’t done that, we would’ve been in and out of hotels for two weeks. His kindness as well as the rest of the staff made us feel welcome.

  We stayed one night with our dog. The dog rate was high ($75) , but we did not have a lot of other options. Our room was well worn & didn’t look real clean. Evening snacks & drink was a nice touch. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating. Morning breakfast was good.
