I had a pretty good stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago West – O’Hare Area by IHG. The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I also appreciated the convenient location, especially for getting around the O’Hare area. We were only 15 mins away from rental company/airport. I loved the microwave and refrigerator. Bed was super comfortable.
There were a few minor things that could have been better, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5, but overall it was a pleasant stay and I would consider staying here again. Shower pressure could have stronger and a few hairs in tub.

**Extremely Disappointing Stay**
Our 3-night stay at this Holiday Inn was extremely disappointing. The overall service and experience were far below what we expected.
We requested room service, but **no one came**. The **air conditioning was not working**, and even after we complained, the staff did not fix it or make any real effort to help. We asked if our room could be changed, but they refused and basically told us that they could not help and that **if we wanted, we could check out**.
The room cleaning was also poor, and some of the staff were **rude and unhelpful**. When you are paying to stay at a hotel for three nights, you expect basic cleanliness, working air conditioning, and staff who actually try to resolve problems.
Very poor customer service and a very disappointing experience. **I would not recommend this Holiday Inn and would not stay here again.**

Completely disappointing hotel experience, would NOT recommend! The front desk area is an unwelcoming mess. Throughout the hotel, there is no way to tell who actually works there (no uniform shirts or name tags on anyone). The room phones (in every room) were out of service. There was only one working elevator car for the entire hotel, and even that one was out of use for almost a whole day during our stay. The carpet in the room was filthy, the rest of the room was minimally clean, but no housekeeping came at all during my 4 night stay…we had to take out our own garbage and go to the front desk for towels and toilet paper. The 3rd floor hallway AC was broken (hanging off the wall). The breakfast area was clean, but was seriously understocked for the amount of guests (if you look forward to the cinnamon rolls, you won’t find ANY served here!) Management allowed the lobby area and hallways to become a noisy free-for-all, one night until after 2am. This was not a restful or comfortable stay. This HIEX is seriously below standard for this hotel chain.

Absolute worst Holiday Inn experience—Dirty rooms, terrible service, and unauthorized charges!
I have stayed at several Holiday Inns and have never had an experience like this. This is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and this property desperately needs a complete renovation in the very near future. After this stay, I hope to never visit Hillside, Illinois again.
The cleanliness of the room was completely unacceptable. The bathroom was filthy, and there was a disgusting, permanent-looking stain in the bathtub. It was so bad that my cousin, who stayed with me, had to order cleaning supplies from Walmart just so we could safely use the bathroom. She also had to buy a bathmat just to cover up the stains in the tub. On top of that, the entire room had a foul smell.
When we asked housekeeping for assistance due to the poor condition of the room, the housekeeper's automatic response was a flat "no." After checking with her supervisor, she finally brought us some towels and exactly one washcloth, stating that was all she had at the time. She did change our trash, but the bare-minimum service was disappointing. Later, we requested a fitted sheet from the front desk. It took several hours and a second follow-up request just to get it.
To top it all off, the billing has been a complete nightmare. I paid for the room and taxes in full using my credit card at check-in. I made the deep mistake of providing my debit card just for incidentals. Holiday Inn then placed $490.00 in random, unauthorized pending charges on my account, which held my funds hostage for five days and caused major overdraft issues with my bank.
The only saving grace of this entire stay was the very kind front desk representative who checked me in. She was the most knowledgeable staff member on-site and genuinely tried to help me fix the unauthorized charges, though she was ultimately unsuccessful due to their system.
I usually do not leave negative reviews, but management needs to address these severe cleanliness, service, and billing issues immediately. Avoid this location.

Walking into the hotel, The lobby was very hot. Check-in is at three. We got there after four told to wait five more minutes because they needed to check and see if the room was ready. Sat waiting 15 minutes. Saw other patrons coming in and commented hopefully they don’t get checked in before we do. I think the receptionist must’ve heard me and called us over and said what was your name again all your room is ready gave us. Our keys went to the elevator only two elevator doors and only one of the elevators was working. Got to the room heard I’m knock on the door and so what are you saying housekeeping, she walked in before we could even respond gave us two towels mind you there’s three of us, I let her know there was three of us and she told us that we needed to get in contact with front desk for more towels. when I checked and noticed, I wouldn’t be able to call the front desk because the phones were not working. I have bad knee so having to walk to the elevator, then walk downstairs and walk it would be too much for me contacted who I arranged the reservations explained everything that was going on was told that we would get full refund but that we needed to check out before 6 o’clock hurry up you got my stuff together went downstairs and with attitude the same receptionist you checking out with attitude I said yes and left. I went in to see if she could give me a receipt stating that we checked with the time we checked in and the time we checked out to show that we did check out so if they tried to charge us, we had proof that we checked out at 5:10 515 without attitude in her response was you booked your reservations through the agency and she told them that she okayed the cancellation that they would send an email. I do not know how they got 4 1/2 stars there’s no way to put zero on this apps because that’s what I would give it.
