  I had an interesting stay at this holiday inn. To start off, the smell of the room was an alcoholic stench, not in the sort of drinking alcohol but rubbing alcohol, which was interesting. The tv was very old, and there were some channels that weren’t in hd. The workout room was undesirable at best. The singular treadmill was broken. The only peloton was broken. There was only one elliptical and stationary bike. Three of us tried to work out there/ work around each other. Very dissapointing. The breakfast was very icky. There were fruit flies, hovering around the orange juice, and most of the food was wet and soggy. I stayed with a Chobani because I was too frightened to try anything else. My accomplice tried the eggs and they were in a similar fashion, very bad. The saddest part about this entire experience is I expect better from Holiday Inn and in all of my hotel experiences, this Holiday Inn was the worst of all of them.

  I am updating my review. I stayed at the HI evanston from Monday11th to Friday 14th and I was very happy with my stay. My room was 908 with two double beds. Rooms come with fridge, microwave, safe, iron and keurig coffee maker. 👍🏻.Room is huge and the view faced north. Check in was quick and friendly. Breakfast is $10 for buffet style. I had two breakfasts because on wednesday 12th a sign posted outside the restaurant said No breakfast today...well, well...not sure why.. Anyway. The hotel is not super new but for the price I paid, I got a good deal...the rooms are quiet and I highly recommend if priced right. My room was around $100 a night and that's great value. Check Out was fast too and friendly. The man in charge of the breakfast was welcoming and friendly too. Buffet style was the same both days. Turkey sausage, roast potatoes, breads, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee and eggs. If I return to Evanston, I may stay at this property again. The other option being the Orrington . Enjoyable stay in a friendly and easily accessible area. Davis or Dempster CTA are 5 and 20 minutes away. From O'Hare its the 250 Pace.

  This hotel feels very rundown. Faded furnishings. some sites claim it has a pool. This is partially true. It does have a pool, but it’s been out of service for years now. Ice machines have been broken on every floor except for the 12th. Carpets are dirty. On the plus side Room and bedding are clean enough, didn’t see any bedbugs.

  stayed for 5 nights for lollapalooza, it was a quick 45 minute train ride to downtown chicago. nice, quiet, cute area. i didn’t get her name but the woman working nights was AMAZING she made our stay so welcoming, would 100% stay again

  I stayed four days in Evanston. I liked the location and proximity to public transportation. While I did enjoy my stay and would visit again, the hotel does feel like it could use an update in the dated rooms. I'm guessing thats why it was more affordable than the other hotels in the area. The breakfast was only $10 per person and it had good options.
